[NY Times] 1 in 4 Girls have an STD

HPV is extremely common. Men are usually unaffected(unless they have homosexual relationships), but it can lead to cervical cancer in women. 50% of sexually active people have the virus. So this is very misleading. Half of us are likely to have HPV and have no idea. Men are not even checked for HPV.

Is implying you are infected with an STD and have therefore infected a quarter of the female teenage population in America with one somehow a badge of honor?
