I agree.. he was lights out earlier in the year.. but he looks like he hit a "rookie" wall.

    Somewhat weak? Try clearly weak.

Our only greater scoring weakness is a lack of perimeter players that penetrate consistently.

Well se saw how much confidence they had in him during the off season. Skip has been playing better, but the Rockets still have a weakness at the PG position with Brooks being so young. I can see the front office going after Andre Miller pretty hard. Here's to hoping we can land him.

Sorry to break it to you but Navarro is a big fan of the floater and doesn't have the physical strength to finish strong in this league.

He is a good shooter with good basketball IQ but has proven so far to be average at best in this much more physical league.

Flip that around: A. Miller/other PG

IF we somehow were to get Andre Miller, he would immediately be our starting PG. Make no mistake about that.

No one else is scared about conceding the ability to spread the floor by not coveting a 3pt threat at the PG? I know what you are going to say, "Rafer can't shoot either", fair enough. But I feel we need some kind of contrast.

Miller can guard Davis, Williams, and Kidd much more effectively than Alston. But in terms of running the offense I feel the learning curve will negate Miller's immediate effectiveness; meaning we may take a step back this year. Also Rafer becomes expendable beginning next year (which isn't bad).

If we want maximum impact THIS year I don't think Miller is the guy. I think it might be Cassell.

I'm a fan of this trade as long as we don't have to give up T-Mac/Yao/Brooks/Scola/Landry/Battier/Bonzi/Deke. Anyone else can be on the table, but giving up any of those guys along with our junk just wouldn't be worth it. Andre is a very good player who could REALLY help this team at its greatest weakness (PG), but there are other players like Artesr and Mike Miller who can make a bigger impact and cost just as much/less.

Talented, veteran PGs like Miller don't have that big of a learning curve. We would become a better team with Miller almost immediately.

the nuggets can offer jr smith, expirings (najera/wafer), and maybe a pick.

the cavs only decent offer will cost them gooden and newble's ending contract.

unless the rockets offer brooks i don't see how our offer can compete with jr smith much less gooden.

Nuggets, Cavs and Rockets are "sincere suitors" for Andre Miller.

The other teams apparently just want to "hit it" without any thoughts of long term relationships.

Yes sir. Adding Miller would be so big it's not even funny. I'd trade anybody except T-Mac and Yao for him. However, I would only include one of Brooks, Landry or Scola. They could really use a starting 4, so I think Scola would be their primary target. They're still in the playoff hunt, so I don't think they're really looking for expirings.

Personally, I would be higher on a Mike Miller trade as he would give us a lights-out shooter who could spread the floor when defenses collapse on Yao and TMac as well as someone who could come off the bench and be a serious 6th man scorer.

    When you need defense:
    Rafer
    TMac
    Battier
    Hayes
    Yao

    When you need offense:
    Brooks
    TMac
    Miller
    Scola
    Yao

That last five could light it up.

I wouldn't give up Scola for anyone but Artest or someone at that kind of level. Scola will be a stud, especially playing next to Yao.

JR is garbage. He's got all the talent in the world, but he just doesn't have it mentally. Plus, they don't need a swingman. They need a 1 or a 4.

Gooden and Newble would be a pretty good offer for Dre. I don't know if the Cavs would do it though. That would leave a gaping hole at the 4 for them.

We could make some pretty good offers. I think better than theirs. The question is, how much is Morey willing to give up.

I wouldn't give up Scola for Artest,A.Miller,or M.Miller.It would be a fatal error IMO.

It would be a tough decision. It certainly would be a risk throwing Landry into the starting lineup, but I think it is an even bigger risk keeping Rafer there going into the playoffs.

How about Francis's deal? He has an option next year, but I doubt he would want to play for Phily next year. Snyder+Francis+Picks probably would do, or maybe throw Novak in there. I dont want to loose Brooks for a 30+ year old guy.

Dre would give us a threat in a zone where most attention is on Yao. With Head, Battier, and Tmac on the court, we have plenty shooter to cover the priemeter. Plus Dre is an outstanding passer. I think he will make this much better.

No we don't. We can easily trade:
    James - 5.8 mill/2 years
    Francis - 2.4 mill/1
Brooks - Solid Rookie (may not have to give up) 972K/2 years
    Snyder - 2.3 mill/1
    Bonzi - 2.4 mill/1
    Deke - 770K
    Novak - 630K

Likely, if we are going to trade we will have to give up our expirings and hope that James accepts trade as well as people take the 2 year expiring not 1 year expiring.

    5.8 mill + 2.4 mill + 2.3 mill = plenty to cover Miller.

    Hopefully it can get done.

James doesn't have a no-trade clause. He has an escalator. A pretty smart one with all things considered.
