A Knicks rookie that didn't play up to his high draft position when given limited playing time? Sounds familiar. Spoiler Let's just hope that Hill experiences similar progression.
Kind of sound like swift. The knicks should have picked blair. I don't know why teams always draft based on the p word.
http://...../players/jordan-hill How BADASS would it be if he does in-fact turn into a CHRIS BOSH-like player?!?! NY would be kicking themselves for years if they dont land any big name FAs...giving up Hill, and 2-1st rounders for T-WHACK! I guess only time will tell.
Also one must note that the Knicks have been trying to lose ever since Lebron has expressed interest to go there. The whole philosophy for two seasons is not get better or make the playoffs - just clear cap room to get him and somebody else thats big as well as getting a high draft pick this year. Hardly an environment for a rookie to progress.
This was probably sent out as an "Oh its okay that we gave up 3 1st round picks for a washed up McGrady" fan calmer. Who cares what they say about him now, he's still a freakin rookie. They're all bound to have their ups and downs just like Curry and Jennings.
The tough part (at least on this BBS) is some people have it their mind that JH is replacing Carl Landry. The kid can't win there. The good news is that the deal really wasn't about him so anything he gives us will be a nice added surprise. Considering how half the BBS still thinks Joey Dorsey (who is what, 27?) is still going to become Ben Wallace I think Hill should get at least a season and a half to show what he has. It will be much easier for him to excel playing with a group of veterans in a more forgiving city and with a coaching staff known for developing young players.
But I don't remember Landry was out of shape though. Self driven is really important to be successful in NBA
See, when you follow Rocket with so many T's, it puts emphasis on the second syllable making sound like Rockette
Exactly what I'm thinking. We've moved a big with promise that has been earning a rep within the organization of not having proper focus (Dorsey) for a rookie big with similar promise and similar rumblings about his professionalism (apparently). It's always funny how the homer/local media switches gear post-trade. Hill goes from dealbreaker to don't let the door hit you. Evan
D'Antoni's system is also pretty haphazard. It requires a lot of decison making on the part of player. Let's get him in a more traditional half court offense and see what the guy can do. Either way we need his size, so whether he can score or not, at this point is immaterial to us.
Vividly. Durvasa I was a big fan of Carl when we drafted the kid and remember he was a beast at Purdue as was Hill at Arizona. How do you call a kid a bust alittle over halfway through his rookie season. Amazing.
I was in Tucson during the NBA All Star Break and was at a place called Maloneys. Nic Wise and Jordan Hill showed up around midnight. And Hill was throwing back shots like it was the off season. And this just in...Nic Wise is a douchebag just like his Pops over at Yates HS.
