    Two things.

First, I don't think the clippers have given up on him. I remember reading an article that said the clippers would not tender a qualifying offer because it was 4 mill+, but would then re-sign Livingston to a different contract that is much cheaper than that, but with bonuses if he does come back and plays certain amount of minutes and such.

Livingston will come back, I just don't think as a PG since he will lose some of his quickness. But remember he is 6 ft 6 in or so. He can still play SG/SF. He had been starting to develop a shot when he got hurt, if he can get one (and i think he is hardworking enough to do so), he can definitely play a wing spot. The problem has been that he has had numerous delays in his rehab. from running a month late, actually stregthening the leg late, and playing basketball on it late. As of right now, I do not think he has played a contact or even half-speed scrimmage in practice. He will be the beginning of training camp though. I think he'll be back but not before January.

I'd love to look at him, but he would not help us this season, and we already have too many players on contract right now.

Yeah but Penny was 10 times better than Livingston ever was and probably better than people thought he would be at max potential.

But i guess i see what you're getting at. A 6-7 guy with PG skills is useable even if he's a shell of his former self.

It's not just about the money.

[I know this will sound lame] But the game of basketball loses something if he's never able to play again. His breed is almost one of a kind. 6'7" PG's with the skills and instincts he had? He was exciting to watch and helped make the Clippers semi-interesting.

If we can get him for the minimum then it is a low risk- high reward situation

    Go for it!

Gawd. Artest might be a headcase but Marbury is a proven team cancer.

If they told me you could play basketball again at full health, but to make it work you have to give back your entire 9 million,
me limping around on the golf course wouldnt seem so bad
