In an article about the Greek's block, a NYTimes author writes this:

All those words plus a bunch more in the article with no mention of Olajuwon's block of Starks, a block that took incredible skill and athletic ability. A block on a literal last-second shot that would have won the Finals for the Knicks and made Starks a god in that town.

Nothing. I wonder if the author of this article used to write for si?

The author like many people on this board were probably too young to remember Dream's block. Probably was still sucking his mom's t*** when that game happen or was just a sperm.

Yes, a familiar dose of East coast bias...and a fundamental lack of respect for Dream/the moment. Also, he makes it look so easy that it's taken for granted.

    Knicks fan in denial

Too painful of a memory for New Yorkers. Dissociative amnesia.

Life will be infinitely more rewarding when you stop looking for reasons to be offended. We know the deal and that’s all that matters. HTown vs the world - what else is new?

    Let the hoes stay mad.

His earliest listing is 2004. He probably just pulled **** from the last 20 years rather than any kind of intentional snub.

It makes my day to hear that we live in a lot of New Yorkers head rent free. They were up 3-2 in the series, but they could not close deal. Y'all Bad!!! Haha!!!

It's the block that will continue to haunt the New York Knickerbockers FOREVER.

Honestly. Jumping straight up head to head with someone else's jump for a block or the chase down block where another teammate undercut and altered the layup are both less impressive than what Hakeem did. That recovery for a center is amazing.

    False

List the top 10 players and leave Jordan out of it. Not a diss?

Always thought Stark was overrated (especially when a Knicks fan reminisce). There was times, like are we talking about the same guy.

Starks was both overrated and underrated. He was the Knicks’ version of Mad Max, basically. He was a streak shooter, but he could take and make any shot, and he was fearless.

He was on fire in Game 6, and damn sure could have won the championship on that last shot, if Dream hadn’t blocked it.

Starks was making that shot too. 9/18 on the game and 5/9 from three. No doubt about it, watching him slip past Hakeem and raise up, I thought that was it. Even watching that ball dead duck it's way through the air and not realizing Dream had tipped it yet, I just remember that feeling of despair followed by joy. I'll never forget that. That Rockets team made me love sports. I've been chasing that high for almost 30 years.
