I think it was not because Mac did not play last night being the reason why we won. This is the first game we have Deke and Shane together as well. The cheerleader and glu guy make big contributions to team chemistry and it was our defense that blitzed through N.Y. What we want is all players playing together when healthy and they will fight through the mental aspect of injuries once key players start to return and the rotation gets deeper. At the same time Mac needs to quit being a gimp and buy into the system. I guess he feels he is worthless if he is not a Faciliator where the team clicks around him instead of Yao and this rubs him the wrong way. He wants to be #1 the option rather than one of the options.
Exactly. DD can tell himself he's rooting for McGrady to get better, but he doesn't fool me. The truth is that he completely locked himself into a mindset of writing off McGrady as a cancer and loser a long time ago, and he is eagerly and actively scanning for any and every little tidbit, regardless of its veracity, that helps validate that view. It doesn't help that he's a "feeling-judging" personality type to the extreme, and he tends to minimize logic or rationality whenever he gets on a roll like this. He sees something, he jumps on it and he just goes on and on.
Yes, I do that, I admit it....I get locked in on a thought and go with it. I am rooting for him to get better, I just don't believe in him anymore. DD
... then it would be a different ball game, also. Would you accredit our missed open shot to their defense?
From what I saw, they still had a number of very good looks. Our defense improved in comparison to the first half, but it certainly wasn't good enough to hold the Knicks to 35% shooting without help from their missing open looks.
I don't think its true.. and if it was I think he meant the chemistry and style of play that they have been doin stinks, keep feeding yao even if he keeps missing. I agree about that one, but I don't agree about whose the leader. McGrady said himself last year "its Yao's team".
Some of you guys were going on about the Knicks game. Not trying to go off topic, but was it our offense or defense that buried the knicks? Back on topic, McGrady deserves every single bit of criticism he can get, but he doesn't deserve criticism from random sources.
LOL. Not everyone in here is just a Rockets fan, to differentiate myself from others in here I picked ChrisBosh. Don't know why you guys always pick on my nick when I say something negative about T-backnee.
The great clutch city letting New York and Boston (who just so happen to be in the BIGGEST media markets) dictate what we should think about our team, and allow us to tear our own team down. Shame I'll still say, McGrady does strike me as "that type" who'd sulk after practice and complain to friends or family about it, and then crash out on the couch while catching up on the TV shows his wife Tivo'd for him.
Totally BS. Hasn't Yao altered enough shots already? Why those 24 to 26 points are Yao's fault when peremeter guys let their men drive to the hoop at will? With the way Yao's being treated by the refs, do you really want Yao to contest every drive hard enough so he can be fouled out in 1st half?
I think Rafer Alston is causing more problems for this team than most people realize..
Let's say for instance that this rumor is true (I don't believe it) would it surprise you if Rafer, a New York native gave the info to them. Or, if he was the one who "laughingly" told shizz to Blinebury??
The team has major problems when a lower tier role player who is inconsistent as best starts to openly "call out" the team's franchise player/superstar.
It may just be a gut feeling, but I really think that Rafer is a bigger problem than it may seem...
Really does depend if you consider the amount of assists that he gives out or the amount of shots he takes. If he limited his shots to say 5-6 a game, then we're talking an extra 7-8 possessions for our team not thrown away.
rafer said the same things about tracy last year. and what he said isn't bad/wrong. and if that's the most of what he said, the chemistry is fine. i think they're just telling tracy to hurry up, get healthy, and let's play.
actually, what I meant is:
At the end of that quote he said, Tracy needs to comeback and realize that we are playing as a team, and he needs to just come in and create for us/utilize us more. Then, we can go to him later games if we need him.
Go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong but...
Did he just say the best player on our team shouldn't do anything except create for his teammates (aka himself) and then, if they are in a hole at the end, he will get the ball and be counted on to save them??
LOL I think i'm going to take the DD route and spew my insane Rafer hate all over this board..
RAFER IS A CANCER GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are the refs treating him bad every game.... Come on sir.... Get real... Yao has his good points and he has his bad points and I'm sorry to say that defense is not one of his good points...
his defense is somewhat inconsistent i think. in boston game, he did a terrific job shutting down the paint, i cna't even count how many times boston players' dribble penetration was stopped by yao's timely help.. but he has bad games too, in sixers' game, i can't count how many dunks were by the sixer players...yao was nowhere to be found as a force of intimidation in that game..
