I like 2. Krover will be huge for this team. But doubt 6er would ever take Shane+Luther+trash for their assets.

I bet they'd do it without the draft picks. It's a salary dump. We might consider something like dropping the first rounders, they give us their #2 and Rodney Carney.

Seriously, nobody in their right mind would trade Dre for Rafer and his contract.

I think Sammy Davis Jr. is Andre's father. Look at Andre's face, you can see Lil Sammy.

andre miller is nice but jose calderon does the same things for much less money and he's playing backup to tj ford till ford got hurt. i wish we could figure out a way to get jose this past summer.

Calderon would be great, but we would have to give up real talent to get him... that means we would have to hurt ourselves like giving up Battier. And I still don`t really think the Raptors would do it. They are happy with Calderon and his contract.

hurt ourselves by trading Battier for Calderon? um...no. that'd be an amazing feat.

the best i can think of is Battier + pick for Calderon + Humphries, but, especially with Calderon's play of late, even with us throwing in a pick and taking Kris Humphries remaining three years, still don't know why Toronto would do this? you might have a better shot at TJ Ford at this point.

But if they did, then my next move would be to trade Rafer to the Cavs for Donyell Marshall and some draft picks out of the Cavs.

A consistent jump shooter would revolutionize the Rockets. They miss an amazing number of uncontested shots, especially for a professional team. The crazy thing is that this has been true for several years. I just drool when the Suns, Spurs, Mavs, or Jazz roll in here and nail jumper after jumper. Then their benches come in and hit more jumpers. Most of the Rocket's players should have their vision tested, they can't shoot straight.

im with you there. even scola has been pretty unimpressive in this area.

as i said to the misses when we were watching the game the other day, if i'm defending the rockets, i do 2 things.

    1) Front Yao.
    2) Double team Tracy

Aside from the occasional Battier 3 pointer, no one else is gifted enough to score.

I've watch Dre since his clipper days (I live in LA). Some comments on his game:

Pros: definitely a pass first point guard looking to create a play and can create plays for others (doesn't wait to setup like Rafer), drives well, penetrates well, can make a play in traffic, good on the break (as oppose to Rafer who can't get pass anyone nor trys to in one-on-one break situations), can hit mid range jumpers consistently, deceptively quick hands and looks to run.

Cons: soft spoken (not a leader type or fire type aka Francis), not clutch and actually seems turnover prone in the 4th, seems to miss more layups then makes (lots of times the ball just seems to hang on the rim with a 50/50% chance going in), alot of boneheaded fouls, doesn't dunk even when wide open (not a major deal), and of course doesn't shoot threes.

My take: he's better than rafer (then again who isn't) but not worth 9 million. I wouldn't trade for him unless it mean we get rid of rafer and get some true talent we plan on keeping long term in the deal.

That's why they need to drive to the basket.Francis,James and to some extent Bonzi/Snyder can do that.It will be interesting to see what Brooks can do in the future.Scola can score inside the paint but he needs more experience to get better.

tTere are 2 concerns when talking about Andre Miller-

    1) In Adelman's system, with T-Mac and Yao dominating the ball so much, how effective would a PG without much of a scoring ability fit in? Looking back on the Sacramento Kings of the early 2000's, the 2 PG's they had were Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson, neither of which were great passers but did so well because of their scoring ability. If you take a look back on my article a month ago explaining the triangle, you will see that the system doesn't need great passing from the PG position, but rather scoring with the passing coming from the wing players/big men. The same principles and many of the same offensive sets of the triangle are the same Adelman uses in his Princeton offense.

    2) At what price would Miller cost? I would not even think about trading the Sixers draft picks, or any of the following- T-Mac/Yao/Battier/Scola/Hayes/Wells/James/Francis/Brooks/Mutombo. That leaves guys like Alston, Snyder, Landry, Novak, etc... The Sixers need youth and Miller simply doesn't fit in with their system, so I could see them taking that kind of package, but Miller simply isn't worth what the Sixers might ask for in return.

If it's a salary dump then Head+Snyder+Novak. Head has one more year on his rookie contract with bird rights, Snyder expiring with bird rights, Novak team option for next season.

Even though Head hass fallen out of favor with a vocal few on this board he's been shooting at a very good clip.

For sure. That play the other day where Yao was doubled and turned to pass to SF3 (who was wide open in the corner where Shane usually camps) cutting towards the hoop was what we need a lot more of. Unfortunately, Steve neither made the shot or had the foul called...

but it is the type of spacing and cutting that this offense needs a lot more of.

Just make sure 'Dre doesn't end up with the ball in a crucial situation when we need a 3-pointer to win the game.

His 3pt % over the last five years? .148!

I don't know if there's a worse 3pt-shooting guard in the entire league.

I will not give up any player for him.

-46% is no good if a player doesnt shoot 3, It's like 34% from behind the arc, worse than many of our guards.
    -He's too expensive, tremendously overpaid.
-He's never known for good passing ability, averages 4 asts, that's pathetic.
