The source people. "NYDaily news". Now they are up in our koolaid because we stole Lin away from them. You guys should know better and hand them their hats back over this. Never allow a rival city to write the story about your own players. Especially when they have personal reasons lately to act like they are.

It's obvious that the writer baited this young kid and manipulated it to make it sound as bad as it did.

What he said was akin to someone in an interview saying he would be happy to work for his manager "for a little while", "if he has to", and would like a shot at being a manager. Also saying you have had a better career is like saying you have a better degree than your manager.

Not a smart thing to say in any case.

Homie he played 25 games. Do you think other teams let Lin do whatever he wanted for 25 games and never thought that they should start forcing him to his weaker hand. Rose forced him left all game and Lin still put up 15 points 8 assists. Also James harden and Manu are all one hand dominant. In the press conference he said he was working on it. If he becomes as strong to his left as he is with his right...

Everybody knows that all these african americans are simply jealous of Lin because he isn't part of their exclusive club. Those ppl are racist!!!

In case you haven't caught on...I'm being sarcastic. I know that both Carmelo and Machado are NOT Afro-American.

Basically I'm poking fun at those certain posters on here who were so quick to play the "reverse racism" card saying that Carmelo was jealous of Lin's success because Lin was not Afro-American. Irony at its finest, especially when Carmelo isn't AA himself. :)

Isn't a point guard supposed to get the team involved? He had double the assists that Lin had. Honestly by those stats, he did have a better season than Lin. I don't see anything wrong with being confident in yourself. Why would you want him to go out and say "I just want to be a back up"?

"Machado is subdued and naturally polite, but in comments he made Saturday following a charity game, it was clear Machado is not as charmed with Lin as the Houston Rockets, who signed Lin to a back-loaded three-year $25 million contract earlier this month."

This is so sensationalized. The NY media at its finest. Anyway, I don't understand why people are upset over this. The kid mean't no disrespect. He feels like he had a better college career, of course he will say and feel that way it is called confidence. Obviously he doesn't want to live under Lin's shadow for the rest of his career and of course he will want to be a starter in the NBA at some point, ain't nothing wrong with that. This is kind of the thing with Lin that the NY media exploits. They ask every pg under the son what they think about him, it gets really annoying. They did the same to John Wall, Jimmer Fredette and Kyrie Irving when Lin played them in NY and you could tell that those guys were like wtf. I like Machado and I hope he gets some playing time with the Rockets.

Exactly....he is multi-cultural. That means he is a product of both groups....to say that he is simply an AA is incorrect. I come from a similar background.

They were in different situation in there college career can't even compare them. The only similarity is that they went to smaller schools. Lin was a combo guard in college. He should have been the pg but the guy who ran the point was smaller than Lin so Lin had the position of 2guard but he was more of a combo guard. Anyway, Lin was the end all and be all of the Crimson. He scored, made plays, ran the pnr he did everything. Scott's situation in Iona was different from Lin's. That is why Machado saying he had a better college career is a non-issue. Machado is just showing confidence in himself that is all. Ain't nothing wrong with that. You won't get far in this league if you have no confidence in yourself.

i hope we go into the year with two point guards who want to start. then there would at least be something familiar about this team.

What the hell do you people see in Machado? I dont get it. The dude looked straight up TRASH in summer league. (As I predicted!)

Can someone lay out to me why he, of all people, deserves a contract over the tons of PG's in the Developmental or in Europe?

Someone tell us why he is so beloved, and dont give me that crap of "he just wants his shot" like he is some wanna be RUDY.

He should say "I would be honored to be a back-up so I can get regular minutes to hopefully prove that I could be a starter someday", not I don't want to be Lin's back up, I had a better college career than he did!". This guy is undrafted, unsigned, unproven.

By the same token, Machado is a better pure point guard than Russell Westbrook. Westbrook shoots too much.
