It's not that we don't want him to comeback.

It's just he should either stay in the NFL or stay retired.

    Stop going back and forth.

It's funny how people are reacting much worse to this than to Clemens' retiring and unretiring at least three times....

Yeah....but for some reason it feels different. Favre has always had this good ol' boy persona, and everyone sees him as a nice guy. I can't help but feel all this nonsense is ruining his reputation a little bit.

I don't really care if he comes back or not, but he is really starting to come off as a bit of an attention w****.

I was talking to some friends of mine who are die hard Vikings fan about this and we all agreed that if Favre plays for the Vikes he will be welcomed initially but come his first bad interception you will hear the boos rain down.

One of my friends though said he would love to get a Brett Favre Vikings jersey just to wear it in Wisconsin and piss people off.

My girlfriend's step-father grew up in Minnesota, and is a diehard Vikings fan. I can't wait until he finds out about this....

Do you know where Richfield is?

It's a shame when your entire legacy is tarnished because you couldn't come to grips with the end of the road. Give it up man. You had a great career. Hang 'em up and enjoy life.

I think because everyone kinda expected it from Roger. He just started hopping from team to team, and it was part of his persona. Favre seemed like one of those guys who was going to be an all-time great with one franchise. He was going to be remembered with Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi (yeah, I know he had other coaching gigs, but still...) as a Packer for life. But with every contract he signs with another team, and every "retirement" he un-retires, he diminishes his legacy in Green Bay, and football in general.

He should just withold any retirement press conferences until training camp comes. Seems like when the offseason draws to a close he gets the itch again.

Espn will probably have a 30 minute show everyday dedicated to what favre ate for lunch. This is why ESPN is crap. They could have a Brett Favre-Mark Sanchez hour and it wouldn't surprise me.

The "ruining his legacy" argument from football fans always seems so stupid to me. So he should quit playing, and quell his love for the game and competitive spirit just because some media pundits and fans think he will "ruin his legacy?" Favre's probably more concerned about playing the game he loves and trying to win another ring than worrying about his legacy. You think Jordan gave a damn about his legacy when he put on a Wizards jersey? Hell no. He just wanted to play the game he loves.

And let's be honest, Favre doesn't have that awesome of a legacy anyway. He was amazing in the mid-90s, but he has been pretty average for the better part of this past decade.

I'm down to see him come back just to see: 1) him play the Packers two times, and 2) to have Adrian Peterson get a QB with a above average level of competency.

Far too many people give a **** about whether or not some graybeard hick from Mississippi throws a pigskin around in the winter time.

    1. From the Vikings' point of view, a washed up Favre is still better than Rosencopter and Interceptor Jackson, so this is really a no-brainer for them.

    2. From a fan's point of view, we get to see Brett Favre have TWO chances to exact revenge on Green Bay. It's petty, maybe even downright r****ded, but for those of us on the sidelines, it's great entertainment.

I don't think there will even be a competition. Right or wrong, if you bring in a guy like Favre, you don't bring him in to be a backup.

This is so overstated. No one is going to forget how amazing Brett Favre was because he plays another year with the Vikings.

I'm always surprised at how protective people are of other people's "legacy." I'm not sure why people care so much. Maybe if you were a hard-core Packer fan I'd understand better.
