i cant see him as a center...he's got great size for a PF, but it small for a center, and i dont think he's growing anymore. Undersized centers don't usually do well unless they can shoot or very agile/fluid, like Okur or Dream. Otherwise they're constantly up and down, much like Ben Wallace.

Frankly, I'm with Walsh and D'Antoni on this. I like Gallo a lot and think he has a good chance to be special. I think AR can be a Lamar Odom-type, too, perhaps even better than Odom. Melo is highly talented, but is also significantly flawed (and it's not an "effort" issue, the guy is not lazy) so not sure if the NYK will really win that many more games with Melo but no Gallo and no AR than they would with Gallo and AR anyway.

So, if Melo joins NYK as a FA, great! If not, I'd keep my guys and look for someone else in the market (wish I didn't give up the draft consideration to Houston last year, but thems are the breaks).

If they land Lala next summer for free, itll be the best draft pick they never made...

Lala would instantly become their best locker room leader and the best hung member of the team.

Al_Iannazzone Latest Melo talk. Trade could expand and one name that could be coming back to Nets is Aaron Afflalo. http://bit.ly/crrR9o

    This (well, 75%)

Trading one of our NY picks for AR will definitely diminish the value of the other, if it helps in making the Knicks better (i.e. landing Melo). Morey is a genius, I can see him doing this trade and having a workaround to our likely diminished pick.

With the uncertainty of Yao and Miller not being a young man anymore, this team can NEVER have enough big bodies, so I would say there is place for Anthony Randolph on this team.

If Lala gets into the Jets locker room, he will be the one making comments about and fondling the Jets players' asses and forcing them to complain to the media about being harrassed by him.

From current reports, I know that Houston has 0 to no chance of landing Melo, but I can´t take my brain off the idea that Houston is the only team involved, that can guarantee Melo, that they can bring CP3 via trade if they wanted to, because we are the only team with enough valuable trade assets to do so

Of course I know that these trades have other "influences" going on, but this is a fact, that if Melo wanted to win, it should already been brought up.....

Maybe he doesn´t want to win?????.....

    In GOD Morey I trust

This is all hypothetical, but if it were to ever happen, I wouldn't keep Randolph out of the starting line-up just because he doesn't have range from the 3. Obviously you would want to surround Yao with as many decent 3-point shooters as possible, but AB, K-Mart, and Shane(on a good day) should be enough to carry that load. I would love to see A. Randolph's supreme athleticism and above-average scoring ability be given a chance to start if it were ever a realistic possiblity. I think he could be an effective starter as a PF(no offense to Scola die-hards) in spite of not having a 3-point shot.

I can only see getting Randolph if one or a couple others are going somewhere.

Why is that? Patterson will be a solid player, thats all, nothing special. Not saying hill will be special, but you act like patterson is saomething.

I want Morey to somehow sneak into this 20 team trade and try to pry Nene from the Nuggets.

I wouldn't mind giving up Hill and Patterson to do so.

Nene is still fairly young for a center at 28 and is way better than the supposed centers that we are after. He's versatile enough to even slide into the PF slot and form another version of the Twin Towers with Yao to counter Gasol and Bynum.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Battier/Budinger
    Scola/Hayes
    Yao/Nene/Miller

NJRocket, keep up the good work!

Man I don't know what any of us would do without your insider info regarding the Melo Drama.

    What's the latest BTW.

Unless I have seen only bad pics of Lala, I wonder what is so special about her. She has got big natural racks which is nice, but those buggy eyes turned me off. I wouldn't do her. Honestly.

How do you know he won't be "something special?" You have a crystal ball now in your gym bag? :p

he can shoot some, has some post moves, can rebound, run , play half court...he's got a good shot at being more productive (better) than Hill...Hill still hasnt shown he can do more than convert easy buckets, rebound, and block a shot here and there.

Tying up 20 mill at the PF spot when you already have Hill, chuck and PP at great values isn't very logical. Scola's getting his almost 40 mins a night and yao/miller will eat up most of the minutes at center....paying 11 mill for 10 mins of action make no sense..

Jordan Hill's jumphook is currently the best post move we have on our team outside of Luis and Yao...

Um genious what if Yao goes down for another injury or he's slow to recover?

Nene is a neccessity for us. Dude is raw and is a good defensive center.

You plug Nene in with our lineup, with or without Yao and you have several mismatches.
