I'd imagine either Patterson or Hill will go with the pick as a part of the package.

I think so too, otherwise we'd just have too many 4s on this team. Also the Nuggets would want young prospects in return and if they aren't getting Randolph, then who else are the Knicks offering? Thats where we would come in. Would have to be Patterson or Hill.

I'm betting it would be Hill though, since Morey drafted Patterson i'm sure he values him more than Hill.

Hell no this trade unless it nets us Melo or Gallinari.

A Brooks/Martin/Gallinari/Scola/Yao lineup would do some serious damage.

It's clear the Knicks are desparate for Melo. We should abuse them like a red headed step child.

Problem is what do the Knicks have that we would want? Anyone besides Randolph/Galo?

They are both expiring, do we want to give our picks away for players that could walk in a year?

I don't want anybody on that roster except Randolph and Gallinari.

I prefer Gallinari because he fits a need. With Randolph, you would have a logjam at the 4 spot.

except he's better than pat and hill. he would play, while those two become expendable. also, i think he's growing into more of a center than anything else. growing being the key word as he is listed at 6'11" now, and is already a proficient shot blocker. he needs to bulk up, but he's still very young.

also, you have to take into consideration the value of that knicks pick vs randolphs value. even if you don't think randolph will find minutes here, you have to consider this trade as bringing in the better asset since the knicks look like they can actually make the playoffs this year and/or next.

Watch Morey walk away with both and the rest of the Knicks pick for the next decade.

    Isn't Randolph a combo 3/4?

he was drafted as a 6'9" combo forward. now he's a 6'11" shot blocking machine. same as camby, just 10lbs lighter. given that he's still really young, i think he can bulk up into being a legit center.

i love the idea of having that hight, shot blocking, and athleticism next to yao as a 4, or next to scola as a 5.

He has an attitude, but I think he would really benefit a lot from being on the Rockets team.....

I hope we can pull this off, I have liked Randolph's potential for a long while now.

Does Randolph play any sort of defense? That is all I'm asking for and if he even plays an ounce of it, I'd take him.

How reliable is the NY media-> 0% after the nonsense with Lebron.

This story is the stupidest thing ever. NY wants the pick back to trade to Denver? Why in God's name would Denver want NY picks, if NY is going to have 'Melo+Amare for the next few years.

Makes 0 sense for Denver, which means it ain't happening, which means whether it's good for us or not is irrelevant.

same here. sure he has an attitude, but he's still young, immature and impressionable. being in golden state without any structure didn't help.

as you said, i think the likes of yao, shane, scola, chuck, and coach can really bring him along as a professional. its a chance worth taking as the knicks look like they can actually make the playoffs. those picks may be nothing special, but randolph will.

exactly, but only if you think brad miller is a super athletic shot blocking machine who's 13 years younger than brad miller.
