I think he was joking about that.

I also think Les is playing down to Ward's level of thinking.

Most fundamentalist Christians are pro-Jewish. That is why America is so supportive of Israel, whereas European nations, with a more secular population base, are less supportive.

I have some good life-long friends who are what I would call secular Jews. They only do the high holidays (at home I think). I've been over there spinning Dreidels before. I've never heard them talk about going to Temple or anything such as that.

A few months ago, I saw their daughter at our Methodist church. She was there with a small group of girls (one of whom was from a member family).

After church, I called my friends just to tell them about unexpectedly seeing their daughter at our church. The mother of the girl was so defensive about her being there-- making sure that I understood that she was not converting or anything, just tagging along with friends. It kind of blew me away. These folks aren't even that devout about their own religious beliefs.. or so it would seem.

It just kind of struck me as odd.

If true then I hope Les sells the team that to someone that can seperate his own political views from the teams best interest. I have grown very tired of Les and this move does not win any respect from me.

I'd sign Hitler and David Duke if they could run a pick and roll every now and then...

With the exception of Griffin, Les/CD have been pretty good about not going after players with baggage. Hopefully, they continue and sheed stays out of town.

I'm pretty sure based on these paragraphs, that you cannot play backup point guard for the Rockets.

I don't see this as a political thing. The comments Ward made should bother anyone of any political persuasion.

That's the problem with this country and the world. Too much phoney politics. If Ward's comments bother anyone of political persuasion, then there is probably some validity to his comments. Unless you think highly of politicians.

Why do we want somebody who the Knicks think is better than Moochie? I could care less, really. It's not like Charlie Ward is Jesus Shuttlesworth.

I think Ward should have the right to express his religious beliefs. Why sports writers make it a big deal I do not know. Lil's take is right on the money. Those who take offense of the comments are just as narrow-minded as the ones they accuse.

Now this thread can be officially moved to the D&D forum. :p

The Knicks don't think he is better than Moochie. They tried to resign Ward, and he would have probably gotten minutes over the Mooch.

"David Duke across the time line, and he's talking a mile a minute to Gary Payton. Duke to Ed Gein on the wing. Gein's been eating his man alive tonight, just having a feast at Kobe's expense. Gein. Looking. Looking. Hitler across the lane -- OH! viscious elbow to the mailman! -- and he's calling for the ball. No... just his hand signal thing to the crowd... Hitler sets a heil pick, Gein on the dribble, Hitler rolls... alley oop! Slam for Hitler! It looked like the Anschluss again rolling to the hoop!

You'd expect more of a crowd here tonight at the Toyota Center, but there's just that one loyal fan going crazy again. Fans still a little troubled with the Rockets' off-court activities.

This broadcast brought to you by the Houston Rockets... and by Tommy Hilfiger."

By the way... Jesus is a Jew.

(sorry for the mis-spell in the last post.)

My brother-in-laws' dad has an interesting site proving Ward's statements... and bro-in-law is Jewish.

Cross Talk : A Messianic Jew that accepts Christ

Look at my bro-in-laws dad's education list.... it's no use though... people still won't believe that Ward meant nothing but the truth.

Jews killed a Jew named Jesus.

    Fact, not fiction.

    Christians have killed Christians too.

We need better scorers, because we're killin' ourselves on the court.

Glad Ward'll get a ring in SA.;) (more likely)

    One note...

Wards comments were misguided and naive. But this is far from being an "anti-Semitic." So, is jay-walking the same as murder? No.

Then, one shouldn't compare Ward to Hilter. They are not the same.

Ward's comments were narrow-minded, bigoted and hateful. Truthfully a level of ignorance that is stupifying from someone who lived in as diverse a city as New York for so long as he did.

Besides, he's a very bad player now.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here, but I can give you other bonafide reasons that I can't play backup PG for the Rockets.

It sounds like you "hate" him. Do you?
