NVM: CHRON: Yao travelling to China. Trying to make it back (to watch)for playoffs

This stay of Yao Ming is going to be a very short one, just around 10 days to 2 weeks

• Just a change of the environment and scenery as he became bored with his rehab routine in houston
• To sort of relax and see his friends
• Meet his national team mates and Jonas Kazlauskas to discuss strategies about the Olympics
• To see what advices the TCM doctors can give him to expedite his recovery

And he is going back to Houston mid April in order to make his commitment for Calvin Murphy's Roast and Toast Charity Gala with Yao Ming on the 17th.

 

i guess yao was just little homesick and wanted to go back for a little break.

if it was just for the chinese medicine, they'd have easily flown those chinese experts to houston.

 

Many better Chinese medicine practitioners are like Department heads in hospitals and med schools. These same people could be the ones that take care of those big guys in the Communist Party (like Deng Xiaping used to have a few big ones plus those Qigong masters around, or tell me how a chain-smoker could live to 94-year-old). You think it's really that easy to arrange a team of these people to look a the foot of a basketball player, albeit the most famous one in China?

 

Other than the reason that most of those experts are big shots in their respective provinces/cities, some of the medicines they subscribe for Yao Ming may be blacklisted by FDA and not be available in USA.

 

Let's hope Ming doesn't make the mistake by coming back early and end up like Penny Hardaway.....

I was in Shanghai previous days. I saw Yao on the Shanghai Daily headline. The article said Yao back to Beijing looking for medical advices. CBA sent the best TCM doctors to reveal Yao's injured foot.
Shanghai Daily said Yao's recovery is in a VERY GOOD condition and he will be back on court in JUNE or JULY. It seems nothing new in this "news".

 

Well of course there is nothing new in this news as there are lots of them posted 1 to 2 days prior to the OP created this thread.

You mean he's not already like Penny Hardaway? I'd say three seasons in a row is enough of a sample size.

 

Penny was a superstar who became a role player because of injury, that hasn't happened to Yao yet.

 

I read every pryuen thread. Of course, I didn't miss your report on those Yao-back-to-Beijing news. Your work is highly appreciated.
I'm a bit dissapointed with this news because TMC is unable to bring any miracle to Yao's injury. I'm going to miss Yao in playoffs.
