Look at what this guy named "hogrant" wrote from the ESPN boards...

Title: To make clear on that Jamison trade
    Then he says

    "It's not happening.

Larry Hughes is the Warrior's lynchpin much like Steve Francis is the Rockets'. Larry Hughes and Steve Francis are two guys who are not going to be traded.

I wouldn't consider Jamison to be untouchable like Hughes is, but he's the next best player on the team and he's not going to be traded for guys who will never be more than role players (though I admit that Cato is the type of role player that you want to have).

Right now Jamison is not a star player and there is no 100% guarantee that he ever will be, but he's got a heck of a lot better chance to be a star than Bryce Drew or Walt Williams.

Somebody got very bored and pulled this rumor out of his own @ss. It's stupid. It's the equivalent of saying that the Knicks and Rockets were talking about a trade of Charlie Ward, Kurt Thomas and Chris Dudley for Steve Francis. It's that ridiculous."

The last paragraph seems like he is insulting oeilpere.

i never bash a team for no reason. my time is more valuble than that. and i know nothing i can say means anything here cuz hes ace and im a nuggets fan.

all im saying is that if you read those posts, they were taken out of context. seriously. we were joking all day long. i was talking about homer simpson, carmen electra, ric buchres name and crackin jokes with sarcasm all day long.

of course i dont love the rockets. i only love one team and the others are all tied for 2nd (ok, a few i dont like such as detroit, utah, san antonio, toronto, etc) but the rockets are in the same ship denver is.

as for the rumor, its not happening. i cant believe you hold this against me. think as a non rockets fan (if you cant do this then your as guilty as i am). it makes no sense, and its terrible for gs.

in fact, if it happens thats fine by me! its between two west teams so one wins and one loses (if its between houston and an east team id have reason to be upset but its not). i said this as well hours ago on the espn rockets board. this wasnt mentioned as well.

im seriously getting an unfair shake here because of my screenname.

another thing, no offense but how come you guys think your right when not only me but tons of other non nugget/rocket fans say the deal wont happen? thats pretty unfair as well. this is an honest question. you guys are just fans of another team. the rockets arent any more special than any other 28 teams. and if you consider this 'bashing' then yes ive bashed in the past.

do i get an apology if the deal doesnt go through? if it does, ill be here to apologize as well.

    Ace --

As far as this "we're being to harsh" bs, save it. All in fun? You took advantage of the fact that you had a few guys from other boards to support you. Otherwise. I'm sure you would have kept you mouth shut. That's what you're doing here, right? Showing nothing but respect, as you know that we would debate your a** right out of here and back to that ESPN message board.

So why is this post here and not over at the espn bbs? Is it because here you have posters to cover you and there you might not?

I hate to seem argumentitive but this thread is completely unnecessary and ultimately, guilty of the same things you accuse NugzFan of.

    DaneB

OielPere, while consistently reliable, isn't completely infallible. Personally, it takes quite strecth to envision any scenario where this trade might seem plausible (which I do in Popeye's original thread).

The truth here maybe that there's non at all -- the rumor's false, in which case Popeye would be wrong.

Why is this such a hard concept to grasp? Should other teams fans automatically assume as most of us here do that anything that comes from the mouth Popeye must be true? ------------------

"Stone Cold Hakeem you are the one that came here, no one made you come here."

    A. I've been here. For a while.

    B. Try applying this philosophy to the original post.

Ace's argument is predicated on something occurring at the ESPN board; therefore, it would seem more appropriate for him to post this thread over there.

Its unnecessary over here, that was my point.

I understand your point I may not agree with all of it but oh well it doesn't really matter. I'm going to leave this thread because no matter what anybody says in this argument it really doesn't matter to me. As long as Nuggets fans:
    1. Hate the Jazz
    2. Hate the Jazz "fans"
    3. Respect the Rockets
    they can't be too bad.

I agree with this. No insider is totally infallible. But like you said he is very reliable, plus intelligent, and that is good enough to earn my respect.

As for NugzFan, when he sees something that he finds stupid or amusing, he almost always replies with dripping sarcasm. So yeah it's possible that some of his takes could be taken out of context.

I think you mean August 26th, not yesterday. That stupid person was the same guy who posted the Sheed crap a month or two ago and got flamed to a crisp.

I knew that NugzFan posts here on a semi-regular basis. I confused him with another guy at first, but eventually I was proved right.

Nugzfan says that he would not have known about the post, yet he rarely even comes to the ESPN message either. I mean, not much of a difference in posts. Here he's around 80, while at the ESPN board he has around 120.
The "I wish you would have posted in there" is just being used after the comments made by Stone Cold Hakeem, where he once again finds himself with someone that supports his view.

As for this being on the ESPN board...

When reading the posts made by guys such as NugzFan himself and Shaq_Sucks, it is clear that nothing coming out of a Rocket fan's mouth would have brought sense into them. Just read the "Why this trade might happen" thread. The author made every attempt to say that he was almost sure the trade would never happen, yet he was bashed for even suggesting that there was a remote possibility.
In addition, look at the original purpose of the thread. It meant to shed light on those who act respectful in one forum and go bash us in other forums, such as the one at ESPN. I don't think it was out of line to post it in here, as it directly had something to do with our situation and somebody that posts in our very own community.
As for the argument that threads in one forum should not be discussed in another, I completely disagree. This is not a closed community here. We can talk about what people post in my forum (if only they did [IMG]), the RocketGuy's forum, or whatever else there is. It's all part of the internet community. By your logic, I could also say that things in the NBA Dish forum can't even be mentioned in a relevant thread in this forum.

Nugzfan, by your thinking I would have asked this question:

Why didn't you make fun of us here at CC.NET rather than at the ESPN board?

I have defended most of my points in the other forum as well, and have gotten into a few heated arguments (sometimes with no initial support).

Yes, Nugzfan's comments might be taken out of context. NOT in this case. Why do you think I welcomed all to go read his posts?

For every one time he says "you give Rocket fans a bad name" (which doesn't really say much as it has become a common saying used when one disagrees with another's post), he has another "Rocket fans do not argue with logic and all they say is complete BS."

As for my name on the ESPN boards...

It's Rockid. I've only posted about 10 times, and mainly directed at a certain "Glen Rice" post. I'm not used to posting there.

The only thing Nugzfan can do is go with the flow. Whether he actually means it or not ultimately doesn't matter, I guess. I just don't appreciate it.

    One more thing:

Popeye's comments are usually pretty damn reliable, but none of us should use his scoop as arguments. The man could be wrong or he could eventually be proved right. I personally don't think it will happen, as reflected in one of my posts.

Why is this such an issue?

Someone said that something might go down. Other people said that they thought it was unlikely. Hundreds of trades are talked about daily that do not occur.

If you're the devil's advocate and say "not likely", that doesn't make you evil... just realistic.

nugz fan, why are you even on two rocket boards ? You will NEVER find me on a mugz board. Are you pissed at the fact that your team has been rebuilding for 20 years and the rockets have done it for two ? Yet, according to your own columnist, we are ahead of you ?

Ace, thanks for the support. When I wrote the "Why this trade could happen" post, it was more to bring attention to what I thought was an interesting and ironic parallel (that of Sampson and Jamison). I never meant it to be legitimate evidence that the Jamison trade was going to happen (although personally I think I created a very legitimate - though purely hypothetical - scenario). Still, what can you expect when half the persons posting on ESPN think the purpose is to dis, not discuss?

    Dreamshake,

What is your problem with me? Ace made an entire thread slamming a poster, and I say that he is stupid and get jumped on? It's okay for Ace to say this guy is posting BS and call him idiotic, but I can't say he's stupid? What is wrong with you?
