I think Kobe's ego is so huge that the whole Eagle thing wouldn't bother him one bit if he was playing for Denver. I think he believes he's above the game, above the fans and above the law. The trial sure didn't bother him when he was playing last year. I think he'll be acquitted anyway and the Eagle debacle will merely serve as a reminder to him that he's untouchable and can do whatever he wants.

That said, i feel like he'll stay with the Lakers. For a fame-w**** like Kobe, it doesn't get any better than having the most glam team in the league basically fellate you by caving in to your every wish. Shaq's gone, Phil's gone... he's gotten his every wish! It'd be silly for him not to enjoy it, and all in the brightest spotlight of all. C'mon, they're completely spoiling the guy who LOVES being spoiled. He'll drag this process out as long as possible, but in the end I doubt he's going anywhere.

How presumptuous for so many speculating where Kobe will end up to assume he'll be aquitted. It's like he has no respect for the fact the there is even the slightest chance of a conviction. I'll hate Kobe's arrogance and egotism no matter what team he plays for and it speaks of how pathetic the Lakers are to give so much power to an accused rapist. I'm not assuming his guilt or innocense without due process (and sometimes the legal stystem's verdicts don't bring about justice) but is anybody even entertaining the thought that he may be found guilty as charged and convicted in a court of law? IF the charges are true, how must this (alleged) accuser feel seeing him being paraded around with no thought of any possibility of him being accountable and him being given so much decision making power. I hope justice comes out of this trial and I'm not even assuming Kobe will be a free man after the trial. To assume Kobe will be convicted is just as presumptous as assuming it's a lock that he'll walk

Playing in Denver might make people in Colarado like him a little bit more, which in turn might be good for the trial. Imagine a die hard Nuggets fan in the Jury. :D

Sounds like the Nugs are out of the Kobe sweepstakes.

Honestly, I never thought they were really in. I always thought Kobe was just using them as leverage against the Lakers.

The question now for the Nuggets is do they go after Martin? And if not, what is their next step?
