but working out a PG might mean you are looking to trade the pick to someone who needs a PG. It's just part of your due diligence to rate all players prior to the draft. Besides, the OP doesn't actually back his thread with a link...so
Saw on the Nuggets twitter feed they were working out Tyus Jones tommorow. Since #6 seemed like too high to draft Jones, and several mocks has the Rockets drafting Jones, I speculated perhaps there's something there.
OP, I am not making fun of you. Your thread is worthwhile for the reason you later mentioned. Why would the Nuggets work out a player who is supposed to be selected much later than their pick? Due diligence? Maybe, or maybe something behind the scenes.
Maybe they send Faried to the Wizards and get their pick to draft Tyus. Or they trade back with the Celtics. Or Atlanta. Or more likely they just do their due diligence like many other teams do and try many different prospects even some that would be filled considered a reach.
i dont think they trade down from 7, but they could possibly trade lawson or faried in a package that includes tyus jones. the celtics make a push for lawson at the deadline but ended up with thomas. the celtics could have up to 4 first round picks next year. i could see them using 16 and 28, or 16 and a future pick to get a lawson trade done. i could also see the rockets using 18, 32, and jones. in reality the celtics have more to offer but it will depend if they want to.
