Nuggets, Nikola Jokic plan to reach agreement on 5-year, $146.5M contract

A whole lot will depend on the next season. I have confidence in him. Hope he continues to deliver.

Bad

He’s not one of the worst defenders but he’s one of the most physically limited. He will try and give effort, which is nice, but he doesn’t really effect anything except the occasional block.

 

Nuggs are a below average D team, I dun blame the big guys as the league is leaning towards the other 4 positions switching n defending.

 

I’m not speaking about team defense but rather his individual defense. It’s bad.

The fact that the league is switching everything makes it worse because you can easily target him. His foot speed is slower than Kanters. He has no lateral movement.

If your gonna be that bad on the perimeter in today’s nba, you at least have to be able contest and protect the rim. The problem is that he isn’t any good in this regard either.

Not trying to call you out, but I find it ironic that you have targeted and criticized Harden for his defense in the past, but are defending a vastly inferior defender in jokic.

Again, Jokic is one of my favorite players to watch in the league. He’s amazing and unique on offense but his defense is bad.

 

only a handful of teams in the league actually do it 1-5 throughout an entire game. and the nuggs aren't one of them

 

I wonder how long we're going to go until a team wins a title with its best player playing the role of a traditional big man. In otherwords, someone like KD or LeBron at the 4 doesn't count. I bet it's a long time.

 

It's a weird list, but I think you have different levels of superstars/all-stars.

I think the A+ Superstars are Lebron, Harden, Durant, Davis,Curry, and Westbrook (being the iffy one).
A-B+ Superstars are Westbrook, Leonard, George, Paul, Antetokounmpo, Butler, Cousins and Embiid
B - C+ Superstars/Really good all-star player are Wall, Lilliard, Heyward, Irving, Derozan,Thompson, Aldridge, Porzingis, M.Gasol, and Green

Solid All-star player-Borderline Allstar, nothing more -- Lowry, Beal, Oladipo, Drummond, D.Jordan, Milsap, Horford, McCollum, Love, Melo (at this point in his career), Griffin, Conley, Walker, Gordon (maybe), Dragic (maybe), Capela, and Whiteside (maybe)

Superstar potential -- Simmons, Anthony-Towns, Wiggins, Jokic, Booker, Ayton, Mitchell, Ingram, Tatum or Brown (possibly).

 

Watch as hungry, sneakily athletic, fan favorite morph into overpaid, lazy cap killa.

Year 3 is when he starts underperforming. Any takers?

 

Not sure, he's on a team that is turning into a pretty good roster of players and if he proves himself to be 20-10 player or close to it. He'll serve his contract for Nuggets, well. He's a very talented big. Another weird accomplishment for Jokic, he is the only center in NBA history, outside of Wilt Chamberlain that average over six assists for a season.

 

The stereotype still applies with freak injuries. Sometimes they don't come back like they used to. Maybe they don't know how to handle adversity and claw back into peak form?

I agree this guy court vision is amazing l. I would rather have him over clint. Dude is basically a better gasol

Needs to increase his scoring but basically he is probably Pau and Marc Gasol combined and better.

 

Dude is capable of triple double at the center position. Let that sink in
