Man...such disrespect for a former rocket! Yes, Juwon Howard has gottena contract he doesn't deserve, but that doesn't mean we should hate on him. At least that ridiculous contract is not with us. Plus, he played his heart out when he was here. He has super work ethic, was willing to teach out young guys, and was the voice of the locker room. Respect the man for what he is doing. His decision to sign with the 'mighty' nuggets only means he really cared about playing basketball. Even though he knows he has zero chance of winning a title there, when he has hundred millions in his bank, he still tried.
He was a good locker room guy when he was with us, I think... Anyway he's not making the season roster so who cares...
Playing basketball and traveling might actually be more enjoyable than semi-forced appearances at community events, sucking at learning golf, having the wife nag you all day everyday instead of just part of the day I still will say even considering Howard's tenure with other teams that he played good steady ball in the 04-05 season with the Rockets. (At least comparable to what the Rockets had out there the previous 5 years). And he no doubt would have been the difference in putting the Rockets past the Mavs that year.
Bingo. Non-guaranteed minimum contract. He's friends with Nene and really has his ear. I'm thrilled with the deal. I don't expect him to play, and if he does, don't expect more than 10 mpg. I realize this board loves to bash the Nugs, but I don't see how this is a bad deal at all. We got a professional, a hard worker, a good locker room influence and a mentor (all something this team needs) for a non-guaranteed minimum contract. It's not like we gave Chris Andersen a guaranteed contract. Wait....
What have you been hearing about Nene? I keep hearing that he and Kenyon are looking really good and are going to suprise some people..... Any inside word on those guys? What do you expect from Nene? I hear George Karl and company think he could become an all-star type player.....
KMart was our best defender last year, no matter what Camby defenders say. I'm pumped for him for another year. His offensive game is limited, but I prefer Melo working in the low post anyway. As for Nene, nothing would surprise me. He could be an all-star. He could be Kwame Brown. I seriously have no clue.
Agreed. He is all of those things - so long as you don't actually need him to play, Juwan Howard is great to have on your team.
