I started watching MJ in the late 80s and I can tell you this. I had some friends who said the following:

    "All Jordan does is dunk"
"He gets all the calls, he wouldn't be any good if the refs didn't protect him so much"
"Pippen is the reason why the bulls are successful"
"MJ is all hype and shoots too much, he's a bad teammate"

    Yep.

You continue to ignore that there was a 19 point lead at the time. If the block occurred 45 seconds later, it would have been on DeJuan Blair or some other scrub mopping up.

Why are you trying so hard to diminish the greatness of this block? Because the pacers got dismissed two years in a row by the King? Because the greatest basketball player in the world gave you false hope that your Pacers actually had a chance to win the series? The image of this particular block will go down in NBA history. It was during a huge run, possibly a series changing run, yes they were up 19 but just 4 minutes prior they were tied and San Antonio erased a Golden State lead with less time left than there was on the clock when Miami had their 19 pt lead.

I miss all the King with No Ring jokes. :( ;)

Someone invited me to that game. FREE TICKETS!

    And I said NO

Because I didnt want to impose and feel like a "mooch" :(

    (I don't know why either ... u snooze u lose)

I DO think, that the Hibbert block on Melo is a little better than this Lebron block on Splitter, because of its timing and impact on the game. Even if Hibbert is a towering figure over everyone.

If this results in Miami Heat taking it to the Spurs in easy series wins then yeah can add the narrative behind the Lebron block to enhance it. But 20 point leads kinda make things not too climactic. Still NICE NASTY block, but not BEST ever

That was one nasty block. Splitter will think twice before going in again. Hell even his future kids will think twice before driving into the hoop

Spurs might be up 30 soon, but I should keep watching in case Lebron pulls off a block for the ages!
