Or turn so his body is between lebron and the basket. Dunno if they would have called a foul on lebron though
hahaha awesome gif for this. That was a nasty and clean block on Lebron. The guy seriously does it all for his team.
Pretty good angles from NBA: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/w7hHcrm7xlc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I love the crowd reaction from the first angle. You can see it takes them a bit to process WTF just happened.
I wished Lebron could have come down with the ball. That would have been sick. Like the old days where Wilt would grab the ball out mid air.
This is the best block I've seen since this one: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KJriDpfgQNs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Great individual effort but the best block I have ever seen in the playoffs is still Tayshaun's on Miller in terms of everything all in one and the situation it occurred
Yeah it's funny in NBA culture when a dunk is contested. You have three scenarios: 1. LeBron gets the block on Splitter. Everyone praises LeBron. 2. LeBron fouls Splitter. It's a wash for both players. 3. Splitter posterizes LeBron. LeBron is humiliated by the public and Splitter gets minimal praise. Any NBA coach would like their defense to contest anything at the rim. It's the competitive thing to do. However, the defender will get publicly humiliated if he fails to block the dunk, a feat that is more difficult than the dunk.
Not that impressed, splitter was trying to regain control of the ball in mid air, Lebron is obviously stronger and has faster reflexes so not that shocking of a play. He's a small forward in a power forwards body, he plays down to his position and then people are surprised when he steps up protects the rim? Troll out
Anybody, Haslim, Anthony, near that charge circle could have blocked it easily. The rim could have blocked it too! Splitter barely made it above the rim if at all. He had this tunnel vision right when he took that giant step across the three throw line that everybody knew what he wanted to do even before he gathered the ball. That attempt, blocked or otherwise, was destined for highlight of the game either way. Hibbert's block on Melo was helluva block!
Nice, but Splitter should have gone up with both hands on the ball and surgically implanted third hand wielding a katana blade.
2nd best playoff block after Tay Prince? <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8QJ4iwqnLKc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Nice block! It kept the Spurs from pulling to withing 17 points with 8 minutes left. Hibbert's kept the Knicks from going up by 4 with 5 minutes to go.
It was not a block that turned around a game, is all I am saying. It was a 19 point blowout and Pop was 30 seconds away from emptying the bench anyway.
