You said you were surprised. This is the first major transgression by Russia against the US or its allies while he is president.

What else is there to discuss or debate?

I'm surprised anyone in the executive branch has done anything against Russia at all.

Do you think Russia committed a major transgression?

This has been discussed many times and is well known: Russia was sanctioned for its election interference by the previous administration. Up until the poisoning, there really had not been any reason to sanction Russia.

Even when the poisoning occurred, there were people here who went off the deep end because the UK “took the lead”. Well, the whole poisoning thing happened in their country, so it should naturally be expected that they “take the lead”.

    Trump hate is so contrived.

The D&D forum will be dead after 2020. W/out Trump, they will have nothing to talk about.

    con·trived
    /kənˈtrīvd/
    adjective
deliberately created rather than arising naturally or spontaneously.

    Synonyms
affected, artificial, assumed, bogus, factitious, fake, false, feigned, forced, mechanical, mock, phony, plastic, pretended, pseudo, put-on, sham, simulated, strained, unnatural

    Antonyms
artless, genuine, natural, spontaneous, unaffected, unfeigned, unforced

There's a whole lot of contrived **** surrounding the Trump Administration, but most people's dislike of it is not one of those things.

There is plenty to discuss and debate. But first, we need to get past your bizarre idea that a President and leader of the free world shouldn't take actions if something happened prior to their inauguration. It is one of the silliest things I've ever seen posted. It's such a horrible idea and restriction to put on a government.

If people followed that logic the United States would not have won WWII in either of their theaters of war, there would be countless known criminals not arrested and prosecuted. Very few roads and infrastructure would ever be repaired. The list could continue forever.

    This is absurd.

The idea that the Russians are our friends and haven't done anything to deserve sanctions is all but gone.

There is no question that the Russians have done many, many things to show they are not aligned with the USA and deserve sanctions.

Having said that; simply because the Russians are bad actors does not mean that is proof that Trump did anything criminal. That is yet to be proven. All it shows is that Donald Trump failed to properly read the situation with Putin and Russia.

I guess it's good not everyone uses the ignore filter. Makes it a game at who the usual suspects are.

    Automatic money with this reply.

Assuming Trump is gone, the shoe will turn and we'll have fine conservatives and "independents" posting why the next leader is destroying America.

After all, D&D didn't exist before trump became president, and there certainly wasn't criticism and debate about previous presidents...

Other news existed before Trump became President but now it doesnt exist in the D&D.

Lets be honest here. Trump will be the main topic in this forum for the next decade, even if he doesn't get reelected in 2020. It wasnt until the last couple years your rabid crowd finally shut up about Bush.

Seriously? You don't believe its reasonable that the current president tweets, comments and actions should be the overwhelming focus of a political discussion site? Especially when that president is so controversial (using a polite adjective)? And only a "rabid crowd" would participate in such discussion?

I also think many of D&D have compared trump to GWB and have said that GWB was the much better option. Including myself. And while I was critical of Bush, I also supported a number of things about him and his presidency (I thought he was a good and decent man, I also supported his actions immediately following 9/11 and also his positions re: AIDs and Africa to name two examples).

I d agree that trump will be a significant topic of discussion years past he is no longer president. Even *if* Mueller's investigation does not result in impeachment article. You don't believe so?

The reason that Trump is such a topic of discussion and likely will be in the future is because he really is THAT terrible.

You have the sitting President under under Federal investigation for over a year.

You have a number of people in the Trump inner circle, involved in his election campaign pleading guilty to federal crimes or under investigation.

You have a President that has constant turmoil within his administration, regularly firing cabinet members and advisers. You have other members being forced to leave for ethical issues of domestic violence.

You have a President that routinely goes online to twitter to lie. Not even subjective, just flat out objectively lie.

You have a President that is married but is paying off whores to keep them quiet.

You have a President that has just seen his personal attorney raided.

You have a President that apparently cannot surround himself with ethical people.

So, in summation you have arguably the worst US President since Johnson or Grant; and likely the worst President in US history. So, year when the President is the most corrupt and leave competent in 150 year, and possibly over 200 years.... it is going to be kind of a big deal.

...it really could just be, I think...

...that there are just a whole lot of people who are okay with the republic as Herr Capitan has managed it...

...here...have a banana...they seem to be in season....
