I love this trade,we can have a really Big back court;we play Ariza(6'8) at the 2 guard and of course Rubio (6'5) at point guard, It could be like a Sura & Mcgrady back court, like back in 04-05; only diff is age and instead of Bruce & Howard at 3/4 will have Outlaw & Scola, Now all we need is center!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really? I thought the difference was that:

-Ariza cannot create his own shot
-Ariza cannot distribute to others and create for others
-Rubio is an actual point guard

Impossible, in order to sign Hedo Turkoglu Raptors had to renounce Marion's bird rights therefore S&T is out of the question.

I would love to see a link where you got that information. This was put out there today, making me question your reply:

Raptors president Bryan Colangelo was working the phones on Saturday, even after landing Hedo Turkoglu on Friday night.

Colangelo is trying to work a deal that would allow him to keep one of his current players or land someone in a sign-and-trade that would make more money for free agent Shawn Marion.

    Read this on another forum.

Blazer fans overrate there players so much!

They think they can get Andre Iguodala for Fernandez and Outlaw.

You should read what they say about Batum and Bayless also!! Wow.. if there so freaking good then why do you need to trade at all.

Not only that, but where would Marion play? We are pretty fine at SF/PF with Ariza and Scola. We have much more glaring needs.

Every fans team overrates their players, and rookies with "upside" tend to be the ones that are overrated the most.

That said, boy I still would love to make that Battier for Fernandez+Outlaw trade. It makes a lot of sense for both teams, especially if the Blazers pick up Andre Miller in FA.

I'd love that trade as well. I think Battier for Outlaw has been discussed for at least a year now and I think the time is right at the current moment.

Portland losing Hedo was a big blessing to us Rockets. Otherwise had they got Hedo they wouldn't go anywhere near Batman.

I've been trying to see the interest in Battier on Blazersedge...and they are intensely interested in Battier, even saying Battier should be their target instead of Hedo BEFORE Hedo quit on them. Now THAT'S saying something.

Rudy is valued EXTREMELY high on Blazersedge, believe me on that one. Outlaw has been bashed quite a lot but most of their fans tend to think they can get a superstar for him, which is pretty dumb considering Outlaw is nothing but a very good bench player...man sometimes fans overrate their own players really bad...

That said I don't think the Blazers would accept Battier for Rudy AND Outlaw...remember we had a prearraged trade in the 08 draft where we would send Battier for Outlaw and the 13th pick? That fell through but you can see the agreed value of Battier to them...now Battier's value has gone up and Outlaw's value has gone down...but I think Rudy is worth more than that 13th pick...

this is the trade I'd REALLY love to see:

    Battier
    Brooks

    for

    Rudy
    Outlaw
    Bayless
    future 2nd round pick

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I am not sure just adding Bayless and Brooks into the package changes much.

I know the Blazers are high on Fernandez, but you have to give to get. And it would really more be Fernandez for Battier. Outlaw is included for cap matching purposes. He is expiring. Probably will want a bigger deal. You could substitute Webster in instead, but he is signed to a longer term deal which is why I thought Portland might want to keep him since it is a cheap deal relatively speaking. The Blazers can afford to lose Fernandez specifically because they have Bayless as a combo guard to come off the bench. And they can afford to lose Outlaw because of Batum. Battier ads in a defensive presence they just don't have on the perimeter which Batum adjusts to NBA play.

Can someone fill me in on why Portland would want to trade Rudy and Outlaw for Battier? Rudy and Outlaw are great bench players who provide a lot of offense for their teams. Battier doesn't really do much other than a wing defense and a spot up 3 shooter.

Agree, also Portland didn't get Turk... Rudy may not be pissed now...highly doubt we get both Rudy and Outlaw in the deal...

    hey guys, woud you say:

hedo signing and becoming a permanent SF for them

    or

rudy complaining about his reduced role for them

helps the likelihood of them wanting battier more???

man in my opinion the rudy complaining thing is hugely overrated...now what if they actually got Hedo??? They wouldn't even touch Battier...because why would you want to have 2 starter SFs needing 38 mpg???

Hedo not signing with Portland is a blessing to us, because now they are still searching for their starter SF. Rudy complaining doesn't help nearly as much!

If they don't want to chuck in BOTH Outlaw and Rudy, thats why my proposal of adding in Brooks and Bayless sweetens the deal for them a bit more.

"I wonder if Atlanta would do a sign and trade where we get Zaza and the rights to Josh Childress in exchange for Battier and Landry. Now that we have Ariza, I think Childress would be a solid starting 2 (or if we eventually get a better 2, a great 6th man) while Zaza would give us an interior presence."

I think we should try to do a sign and trade with the Hawks but it should be for Marvin Williams not Childress. First we should offer Marvin a nice contract and see if Atlanta even matches, they probably would though. Ariza and Marvin are both big and can both play either 2 or 3. Marvin Williams > Josh Childress. Marvin's stats have been improving yearly and he will be a star one day. I'd do Battier straight up for Marvin any day, this is a great trade for both teams too because Atlanta needs a solid defensive leader like Battier.

I doubt Atlanta will trade Marvin for Battier... Marvin has great potential and he's beginning to show it... but that's a trade I would do with any hesitation

we can't offer marvin anything. we can only get atlanta to sign and trade to us for him. not us giving him an offer sheet.

but why would we want him anyways? we've already got ariza. if anything we want a SG

Or you are underhyping this guy... Rudy could pretty much start for almost any team but he's in a situation where he's behind Roy and Roy plays pretty much the whole game so he has to swing to the SF where Batum and Outlaw are best at the that position.

I'm warming up to the idea of making a trade with Portland if we can get back Bayless.

    Battier/Brooks/Cook's expiring contract

    for

    Bayless/Rudy Fernandez/Przybilla

We address our holes at SG and at backup center, while obtaining our PG of the future.

Portland gets a defensive, veteran SF since missing out on Ariza and Turkoglu, an Oregon native in Brooks, and some cap relief for 2010.

    Possible lineup:

    (Yao)/Przybilla
    Scola/Landry
    Ariza
    Fernandez/James White
    Bayless/Lowry

That team competes and makes the playoffs IMO. Then we make a run at Bosh or Wade with T-Mac's contract at the trade deadline or next summer.
