Why would it defeat the purpose? Just show the UFC in Japan.

Because people in Japan want to see Pride, not UFC. Let's say UFC shut down here, do you think they could just show Pride PPVs here and everything would be fine? Not really, you have totally different presentation, totally different ring, and different fighters. Fighting is not just fighting. If that was the case, IFL would be doing alot better than it is.

As far as Fedor, supposedly his Bodog contract is just one fight. I guess we will see if those rumors are true or not.

i will say that Gomi wins the rematch. i give nick diaz credit for a great win, BUT that was not the Gomi we have seen in the past. winning the belt and having all those non title matches has spoiled him.

diaz beat a fat, and unmotivated Gomi who was more interested in bars, blackjack, and hookers. I truly believe that a motivated and determined Gomi is unbeatable. Diaz was hitting Gomi would plently of shots and couldnt knock him out.

I hope we get to see the great Fireball Kid again, and not the one that lost in vegas. supposedly Gomi has turned over a new leaf and is training seriously again.

Gomi lost, BUT Diaz was the one that got ****ed up. broken orbital bone. it shows how hard gomi hits and that any average joe would be stupid to mess with him on the streets no matter how much bigger they are.

Sounds great, bring them together once a year for a grand ppv.

BTW I actually have enjoyed the IFL so far (yes I attended the event in Houston), Chris Horadecki or however his last name is spelt is going to be a phenom in the ufc or somewhere in a few years I think. But in reality IFL fighters would be brutalized in a heartbeat by about anyone from pride or ufc.

I hand it to them though, they fight just about once every month and a half or so, not alot of time to train and prepare.

I'm looking forward to the UFC ppv (i cant go to it either) followed by the Pride PPV the 7th and 8th. The Pride card looks great, I'm not to siked about the ufc card

Yes, I would say if the UFC shut down and all of the UFC fighters became PRIDE fighters, that they could show PRIDE matches in the US and draw at or near the same audience. In fact, I am sure there are many in the US now that watch both. It should increase the viewership in fact, as most of the fans of the UFC fighters would still want to see them, and the people that where fans of PRIDE already would want to see it. Saying that it would fail is like saying that no one would watch WWE once they bought WCW and brought in their roster. I know I watched the WWE once the WCW was shut down. Maybe there would be some hardcore PRIDE fans in Japan that just couldn't adapt to watching matches in the octogon instead of a ring, but that number should be small.
