Now that you've digested it, thumbs up or down for the new logo?

it just sucks really. you waited so long for a really really great logo and now you realize its not gonna happen anytime soon. you're gonna have to wait for the next logo change.

i dont know about the rest of you but i wasn't waiting for something that's a little bit better than the dildo rocket. i wanted something great.

at least the away jersey look nice. (so far from what i've seen).

 

It sort of depends on its context. I think on the billboards and in the Chronicle posters it looks really really BAD. I've heard a lot of graphic designers ripping it - saying it looks very amateur. And looking at it in some places I agree.

but in other places it looks good - like the floor of Toyota Center for example - I think that floor looks GREAT. And I think it looks pretty good in the updated design of Rockets.com

The Rockets seem to be about 10 times more proud of it than they should be though - it ain't that good. I can't believe they actually wanted it Superman style on the new uniforms. Please.

 

but then again I absolutely HATED the old uniforms and the old logo. PAJAMAS!!! I don't ever want to see them again. In those pics of the new arena when Clutch popped up in the old uniform I heard the music from Psycho. The sooner that old logo disappears the better.

and that's the main reason why I like the new court so much - cuz the old one was so damn bad.

i'm also very happy about RED being back as the dominant color

 

It's alright, i guess...but the rockets front office tries too hard when creating a diffrent logo and uniforms(i.e the old rockets look...damn them uni's were nasty looking) just keep it simple and I'll be happy with it. I just wonder how the floor is going to look like, I just hope there isn't any cartoon rockets blasting off and blinding stars inside the three-point line.

 

This is the true Rockets logo. Changing it was STUPID. They had something to build a legacy with and they blew it.

 

I agree with you to some extent. It would have been nice to be like the rest of the teams that just sort of enhance the logo they have had for so long and just do minor changes to bring them up to date with the times instead of doing a complete make over.

So many teams have just enhanced there logos and uniforms from their original forms like the Lakers, etc etc and they still have there feel for the past logo but with enhancements. Regardless, still love the rockets and have to just support what they do i guess hehe.

 

I need a hat and a t-shirt, which I don't have... not yet, to wear for awhile to see how I feel. That, and see the team play in the new uniforms on our new court. Then I can make up my mind.

 

One of the options should be "Okay, but better than the awesome logo from 96-03" I love the old logo, not the teeth part, but the font and just the overall look. I hated the new at first, but it has grown on me, not too bad.

Where's the beef?

 

The new logo was just OK until I bought a T shirt with the new logo on it. I've been wearing it for a few weeks now and it's really grown on me. I now really like it!!! It's my favorite T shirt to wear.

 

The logo's grown on me a lot since first seeing it. Still don't like it as much as the previous shark-toothed one, but it'll do. The jerseys (from speculation and video game shots) appear to be pretty decent as well.

The only thing I don't like relating to it, is the design of the court at Toyota Center. It's pretty bland and looks like a cross between the one at the old Chicago Stadium and the McDonald's logo floor of the Summit. It'll probably grow on me too though.

 

I have been using the logo wallpaper Rocketeer created a couple month ago for a while now... it grows on me too. The logo is still a little too simple/plain for my taste but I'll take that over the shark teeth anyday.
