    Exactly.

To those saying just let him go...and who do we replace him with....James White?

Our best option is one of the two and i'm not sure what good offers we'll get for Ron.

Artest brings much needed toughness and leadership to the Rockets team. His toughness and confidence is contagious and it rubs off on his teammates. He just needs to work on his offensive game or shoot less.

I think it's easy to to diminish Artest's ability when he didn't play great at some part in the games. And this is just against one team..Lakers. Who knows what he might become against any other teams??

The bottomline is...without Artest, this team isn't as tough. Seriously, if you take away Artest now!! Do you still envision this team as tough?? Well, they can still be tough but not tough like steel. The mere present of having Artest on the court is enough scare people away because of who he is. His presence on the court alone will make other teams scare of us let alone playing against him!! So having Artest on the team will make other teams FEAR of us before EVEN playing us!!

So i think we need to resign him. I am not sure if he should come off the bench or Tmac. With Artest on the roster, we're a tough defense team. With Tmac, we aren't as tough but we score and flow better.

THis team just need to sign a Center.

We MUST resign him but we must not let him dominate the ball. Either T-Mac comes back to be atleast a #2 or Brooks takes over as that #2 but he can not have the ball in his hands so much. If we trade T-Mac now well not get anything of value in return but if we trade him at the trading deadline with Morey in control we might get the difference maker that we need. Now remember this is T-Mac's contract year so he will comeback and play well so he should be back at #2 and Brooks could be the #3 which makes Ron a great steal as a #4 option...What team can say that...I am excited!!! :D

    Exactly man.

Artest brings something we haven't had...a toughness and intimidation. Remember game 2? Artest also has brought a confidence in this team I FEEL. He was the only guy we heard saying "There was a glitch in the matrix." I felt Artest SINCERELY felt we were supposed to win.

Tmac on the other hand has our offense running better and think about it...how can you front Yao with Tmac, Artest, Brooks, and Scola on the floor?

A lot of our success next year really depends on health though. I really feel that if healthy we are as good as anybody in the NBA and you don't just pass up on this shot. Yao is getting older and it's time to just do everything to make the team better for the next year.

Short Term deal around 5m and we should keep him. He probably wants more though.

losing ron will be very tough because that just kills the depth that was our strength this year. his intensity, toughness, and swagger also cannot be overlooked.

but i just don't see how you can justify paying him $7mill+ per year over multiple years given his age and physical decline. his shot selection might be the worst in the entire league right now, and his defense is now average at best. his emotional instability only compounds the risk.

i personally don't see any way you can justify paying him - it's not a moneyball move. i will miss ron and wish him the best. he gave us a very enjoyable and memorable season and was an instrumental part in one of the most unlikeliest runs in our team's history. but i can't let those emotions cloud better, more rational judgment.

We should keep this roster and just work on our offense. i think mcgrady sees the potential of this team and knows this is the best team he'll ever be on.

YAO gets the summer off, McGrady is gonna work hard to rehab, Artest i think, will get resigned for 8-9 mil.

    we need to solidify a aaron-mcgrady/scola-landry-yao p'n'r/p'n'p

i liked how kobe was using the pick n roll with gasol. either he'd get the layup/foul or gasol/bynum was there to tip it in.

i think with yao being fronted, he should already be in position to get offensive rebounds while mcgrady-brooks/scola-landry roll to the basket to get a layup or pop to hit a jumper.

    anyone else see this happening?

I would offer a 1 year 12 mil dollar deal. If it doesn't work blow it up next year.

i agree with thacabbage. its just not smart to give ron a long term deal with the money he'll be looking for.

i think the best move would be to use him in a sign and trade so we wont lose him for nothing.

i trust in morey. if we sign him, i assume it's the best course of action. if not, the same. morey has earned the right to be trusted, IMO.

Artest on an SnT = Haslim/Beasley. Riles does it. Does DM the GM? Do you?

Artest on an SnT + Cook. = Curry and a draft pick. Walsh does it. Does DM the GM? Do you?

Artest on an SnT + Cook. = Kamen and a draft pick. Dunleavy does it. Does DM the GM? Do you?

Artest on an SnT. = Yi and Hassell or Najera. Thorn does it. Does DM the GM? Do you?

our team would suck balls if the clutchfans were GM

we would have VSpan instead of Aaron Brooks

we'd have Rudy Gay instead of Battier
