Wafer also had to be sent to the lockerroom during a fricking Playoff game
    BY THE COACH!!!!
I don't think Ron had that issue

That does not bode well for Wafer for me . . . .

Ron Artest says alot of things. However, I think from his interviews that he's willing to take a pay cut to play with Adelman and players he likes (i.e. Bonzi Wells when he was in Sacramento). Taking a pay cut just to get a ring is different than taking a pay cut to play with people you trust/like. The Rockets should offer him a reasonable deal, otherwise he might feel slighted, but I doubt he expects to get a really big contract.

Its sad that I actually expected that somebody was dumb enough to entertain this question, but I didn't expect it to be THIS fast. T-Mac and Skip lasted YEARS with this team, and they accomplished SQUAT. Hell, Yao's injured AGAIN, and he pretty much has an automatic buy. Artest helps get us to the second round and 7 games against the Lakers, but he's the one that has to leave "to make the team better".

I'm glad Morey's the GM and not the fans.

Adelman wouldn't send Artest to the locker room, Artest is one of those players Adelman will have to live with his actions, be good or bad. And Artest sent himself to the locker room TWICE in the Lakers series, so Adelman doesn't even have to do that.

I don't think most people want to necessarily get rid of Artest. I think a lot of people think that we'll be overpaying for him. Artest is on the decline. There's no doubt.

This merits careful consideration: we might have 4 players lacking offense abilities (Yao when he's fronted, Chuck, Battier, and Ron) and three of them are starters.

If we can get him without 'breaking the bank', and if we solidify this roster so that he does NOT have to be the 'main' (or even second option for that matter) guy then yes, it would be great to bring him back.

It's pretty clear that Artest would the great 'third star' (as he was meant to be this year) but you can't consistently rely on him to be the go to guy. It would also be a horrible mistake to lock up so much money with Artest that it hinders you in other areas.

But yes, Artest brought a great character and toughness to this team that I would love to keep otherwise.

I agree. As much as I appreciate Wafer's game, which I already thought was somewhat expendable (i.e. we can get somebody else to fill his role without too much trouble), that incident is the main reason I'd like to see him traded.

I like Wafer. . . it really hurt my heart to see him go out like that

He was not the same afterwards. . . .
He let Sasha get in his head all series too

Sign Ron for 1-2 years, 7-8 mil per.

Teach Ron and Wafer to run the offense without the ball in their hands.
Teach Wafer to pass the D*** ball when hes doubled in the paint.

You have to stick with T-Mac for another year. His need to have the ball in his hands on offense will actually help us by taking it out of the hands of over dribbling turnover prone wafer and artest. This will also allow Brooks to do what he does best...Score! hes definitly not a conventional point guard, and with the double teams that T-Mac and Yao will get, his points and percentages will sky rocket from wide open shots.

Our roster is basically set. I dont think Morey should pull off any sort of significant move, just bring in a serviceable back up for Yao.

Also if you are able to sign Ron to only a one year deal, and you keep T-Mac for all of next year, there will be plenty of freed up cash to make a significant signing in 2010 free agency!!

one of my main issues with those ANTI-RE-SIGN RON folx
    is
    their basic argument is . . .

    SIGN HIM FOR SOMEONE BETTER
which is. . .a well DUH . .type of thing

I think We'd Trade YAO or *ANYONE* FOR SOMEONE BETTER!!
Hell the Cavs would trade Lebron for something better and would be dumb not too

However we must look to define better

There are combinations and etc that need to be considered

What's the point of getting a 45% shooter on the team . . . if his man is going to shoot 50%
what's the point of gettiner a 10 assist per game man . . . with 3 turnovers and his guy gets 10 assists

also . . .Artest gave this team SWAGGER
    much needed SWAGGER

Well you could argue that he should not have been sent to the Locker room in both incidents.

He definitely should not have been ejected for that 2nd incident.

    RR,

    Stop lying sir !

Ray Allen stats for the year.

    18.2 ppg
    .480% FG
    .409% 3pt

    vs

    Ron Artest's season stats

    17.1ppg
    .401% FG
    .399% 3pt

Unless you are saying that is Ray's PLAYOFF percentages, and if so, let's look at Ron's.

    .399 FG%
    .286 3pt %

Thank you very much sir !

Considering what we got so far with Yao and T-Mac for what we're paying them, it seems to me that Artest is relatively cheap.
