One really frustrating thing that seems to happen once or twice a game with Yao are stupid fouls. You've seen them. The most common one is where he's completely boxed out by his opponent and Yao leans in and over, trying to get a swipe at the ball. It is such an obvious call that I cannot believe a smart player like Yao continues doing it. If he could recognize this, it's good for at least 1 extra minute a game spread over the season. Maybe even more. Ok, were up to 32 minutes on average with my contribution/suggestion. Maybe if we can eliminate certain referees from calling Houston games, we'll have Yao at about 33.5 minutes a game. Stuart
Pass 1st, Shoot 2nd first tried to convince that there was MDW somewhere in Iraq and now he is making up some pretty lame excuses to cover his ass.
Hopefully there are WMD in houston in the forms of Yao and Tmac, and they can blow the rest of NBA away.
I kind of agreed with you. Pass1st, shoot 2nd sound like totally different person after a long period of time not showing up (while we're on the hot streak, Yao was playing great) BTW, P1, S2 is still on my ignored list
He's a natural-born flip-flopper. This post is merely a smoking screen to cover his deep hatred towad Yao. And, it's a desperate attempt to catch attention. You know. since Yao has been playing quite well, and this man is running out of things to criticise Yao.
Yep! All those things are very, very possible. Yao's small improvments here and there will allow what you say to happen. It just might take 1-2 more years. But that's not so bad. As long as he keeps learning.
That will be great. Then our dear r****d will ask the house $80 billion to fight domestic terrorism, while handling 99% of those to his ass buddy's firms.
I think it makes sense? why can't you change your opinion on things? Yao has improved during the streak and is playing better than he was in the first half
Am I the only one who gets the feeling Pass 1st was stewing in his room during the streak, while getting by on Chad Ford articvles and agreeing with Urkel's criticism of Yao? The minute we lose, suddenly his face pops up. Sorry dude, but you earned your rep.
Here is the lesson for all of us posters: when you have irrational hate for someone and you are continually spewing out hatred for that person, you will lose all crediblity with the board when that person is vindicated. I tried to defend Yao before and got cursed at and ridiculed a few times. I stated my position very clearly before on Yao. I believed in Yao, I know he has everything it takes to become the superstar that we need for our third championship. The Yao haters on the other hand can't wait for him to fail eventhough they claimed that they are Rox fan, don't they realized rooting against Yao is indeed rooting against your own team! I have a suggestion for P1st,S2nd, Amed, Juggie, Summersong Giver and the rest of you Yao haters out there(feel free to add your name to the list). Come to this board and repent, tell everyone here that you were wrong about Yao and all will be forgiven, after all this board is a nice place to unwind and discuss about our favorite team : our beloved ROX. But if you come in like Pass 1st, Shoot 2nd trying to change his tune and rationalized everything he had ever said about Yao(and we have record to prove it) then you will appear very foolish and everyone will LOL at your expense!
I don't know about you guys, but I always think Juugie is kinda rational in his posts. He doesn't believe the team should build around Yao. That may not be the consensus on this board. But still he deserves to have his own opinion. You don't have to agree with him though. The same can be said for P1st S2nd, I think. But if you just talk about hating on Yao, that Amed dude really stands out. At least 90% of his posts are about Yao and none of them is positive. It seems to me his only purpose to come to this board is to bash our center. I am very curious where the hate comes from and why a self-proclaimed Rockets fan would hate on a Rocket player that much. I think it is an very interesting topic for the term paper of your psychology class.
They envy the fame Yao receives. I though Yao was overrated when he enter the league, but the man remained optimistic and worked hard to improve. He deserves every vote he got in the ASG. People like Shaq doesn't like Yao because Yao's taking all his spot light. (Everyone used to be like WOW Shaq's so big, strong, etc. Now it's more about Yao, and it's not just in the US, it's the whole world.) Also, if Yao was born in the US he wouldn't be hated as much simply because everyone would be familiar to him. How would you like it if your parents adopted a kid and he took all your parents' affection away from you? Lastly, the less educated people (aka ghetto) tend to hate on Yao more because they are more familiar with streetball where it's more about entertainment, athletism and individualism. (And we all know Yao isn't exactly the most athletic guy out there nor is he very entertaining ) Now for the smarter and more educated fans out there, we tend to go beyond the individualism and foresee his ability to make the team better. That is all that matters. I think when you name the top players in the league today in terms of Performance and Character, Yao and Duncan will definately be the top 2. I'm just glad one of them is a Rocket. Go Rockets!
Haha... it does kinda sound offensive now that I read it. I'm not gonna edit it because I said how I felt, but I'll apologize to anyone that I have offended. Just getting tired of people hating on Yao for no reason, and not all ghetto people are uneducated. Lol, sorry.
I really like Yao and always have. He is a real gentleman with a great basketball mind- he is a great player we are truly lucky to have. I really do not want to play Yao more than 30 to 32 min per game. I do not want to risk his health and durability by playing too many minutes and wearing him down physically. I mean no disrespect by saying this. Let's not ride him into the ground. This is where Mutombo has been so valuable- he can play some effective minutes without our team giving up too much on the floor. We will always need a tough physical defender to back Yao up. We truly need a physical -tough 4 to complement Yao Ming's fine game. A banger to take pressure off Yao on rebounding and inside presence...I have said this many times-but Yao will develop further with Physical help down low. We owe it to Yao to get him some help at the 4 and not burn him out with too many minutes. Careful time management is needed... Please not too many minutes....
