I have a Stage II Audi 2000 S4 sedan which sports a B5 v6 twin turbo engine. When heavily modded, these guys can tear up the track and smack any car. As we know, Audi's have superb handling with their Quattro system. When fully maintained, Audi's are a thrill to drive and can truly perform. The downfall is that they are extremely expensive to maintain (especially those models built before 2005) and most people just don't have the time or money for that. Over the years, I have countless of times wanted to sell my car due to constant repairs but decided against it. It would be a waste to vest so much money into it then giving up on it. Owning an Audi is sort of like committing to a pot in poker - you go all the way. My ride just passed 140K miles and I'd be happy if I can squeeze another two years. It's a roller coaster experience. If you can't handle the maintenance, then it's best to look elsewhere. It's not for everyone. I figure in recent years quality has improved so maintenace shouldn't be that bad. Having said that, I'll probably get a japanese car once my Audi gives out
Who knew that a Vulcan would have an affinity for Hobbits... Audi's are definitely eye candy! Would definitely consider buying/leasing one... ....... ....... .......
Same reason I'm not touching Audi's and BMW's (that, and they're overpriced). It's like they require more repairs (in general) and the repairs are more expensive on top of that. If you're leasing a new car every 3 or so years, you're probably somewhat safe, but Audi's DI engines were causing people hundreds in repairs after only 5000-20000 miles just a year or two ago. It really sucks because I think cars like an E-Class Mercedes are beautifully designed in terms of looks. Audis are starting to all look alike/bland to me.
Reliability and cost of maintenance and repairs keep me away too. Not to mention they seem way overpriced for the power you get compared to competitors. If I ever go Euro, it's BMW all the way for me.
Lol yeah. I think nimoy voices several audiobooks and im fairly certain he also voiced a hobbit audiobook in real life.
As for the audi cars itself. I remember 15 years ago, we made fun of people who spent that much money for basically a fancy peugeot that looked and acted like a daewoo. Audi had horrible looking cars back then. Amazing how much they have changed their U.S. image in less than two decades.
220K on my glorified Accord (a.k.a. Acura TL ... ) One of my co-workers got rid of his Accord after about 190k last year and bought a used Lexus ES 350. I'm sure that'll keep going for a while, too.
The Audi was my personal T-Mac - great when it worked, but frequently broken down. Your Accord is more like a dependable Robert Horry - not flashy but gets it done when it counts.
