actually he is his saying its sore its affecting his mobility blah blah blah blah blah his being asked that question thoguh same as T-mac
Why haven't we heard anything from Battier? I mean that guy is limping around like crazy out there. DD
Now thats a bit too far don't ya think? The fact that he claimed it was no big deal shows that he doesn't want to make it a big deal. If he was asked about his knee, he wouldn't say its fined cause its not. And we gotta accept the fact that he is a honest speaker, and has never been to college. No I'm no sugar coating it DD, nor am I kissing his ass. I just hate being laughed at by Jazz fans who are having a great time reading these forums. Jazz fans don't even need to troll the rocket forums because we have our own civil war going on.
DD, you really must not understand a lick about sports in general. People are less durable then others. Some people weren't made to play basketball i.e. Yao. Its stuff that the player cannot control. It's amazing some of the stupid comments made about injuries, and how he needs to just toughen up, when people like you have no idea what they are talking about.
I cant believe you just said that. When the hell have you ever seen Battier get interviewed? Tmac is the star. They didn't ask Battier. They asked Tmac, and he told them.
Jazz fans don't need to troll here, because they already know good and well we've got no defensible response to the 'Over-Rated' chants they rained down on McGrady. No matter how you dice it, McGrady is not now, nor will he be next season, a dominant player for us. Be it injuries, a soft mentality, an offense that doesn't suit him, or anything else you want to call it. There are 15 other playoff teams (2 of which are now gone). Out of them, there are no less than 9 of them with a star giving them far more than McGrady. Again, I do not care if he says he's injured - that's partly the point: when isn't he? With all these chronic injuries (chronic = won't go away), why should we keep waiting to see if he'll revert to all-star form? Look at the playoff leaders: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/statistics?stat=nbascoring&league=nba&sort=pts&season=2008 Only Carmelo is having as terrible a first round as McGrady amongst the top guys. Only Dwight Howard is worse from the free throw line. I'm tired of this endless cycle of 35 games together, 22 games with only Yao, and and 25 games with only Tracy. It's old, it's getting us nowhere. Yes, Yao has a terrible problem staying on the floor himself. But you can't question what he brings when he DOES play, you can't question whether he leads by example, and you can't question his inherent value to the franchise. All of these things are MAJOR points of concern with McGrady. Adleman making veiled comments about him to the press should speak volumes. I don't believe he's done that with anyone yet this year. Evan
At this point, I wouldn't even be surprised if T-mac just come out on the court with crutches. That way if we win, he can tell everyone how "I knew I had to play through the pain.. blah blah blah." If we lose and he sucked, "well god damn, what did u expect, I came out on freakin crutches."
i'd hate for our season to end early but if tmac plays on this injury and makes it worse, this could be really bad for us in the long run. as much as i hate to say it, if it's really that bad, it may be in our best interest for him to shut it down for the rest of the season.
I really hate to say it, but this basically sums it up for T-Mac spot on. He does set himself up to take the bulk of the credit when the Rockets win. Now that the pressure is building, and the team underperforms, he's dogging it and the excuses and finger pointing pile up. At his best, he was able to make fans orgasmic. The come back win versus the Spurs where he singlehandedly too over. Dunk on Bradley. His personality, however, is undoubtedly flawed, and it's keeping him from performing to his physical potential. I truly don't buy this injury garbage. The timing is too convenient, but I leave myself open to be proven wrong. I remember there was a time 2 seasons ago, when the All Star game was in Houston, when he was just plain pouting and missing games without any obvious reasons. He certainly seems to be trying his hardest to make it hard to root for him with his immature and demoralizing words and antics.
I agree. The only problem is the missed diagnosis of the knee injury earlier in the season. When they missed whatever that tendon it was he strained in his knee they gave Tmac a free pass to exaggerate and cry about every bump or bruise he gets because he has the fallback option of saying "they misdiagnosed my injuries before." I totally agree with you but I wish they would fire this medical staff and bring in better people who would address the media directly and the set the record straight everytime this guy hints that he is playing when he should be undergoing surgery.
I'm actually with you on most of your points but check my sig. We all know Tmac has played as good as anyone in the post season in the past so this is either a drastic decline or an aberration. Because of the drastic differences in what he has done in the past and what he is doing now, i think he is CLEARLY playing through some combo of injuries. With all that being said i still don't think there are 9 players playing better than him. Could you name them? I seriously doubt there are that many players who you could replace tmac with and be more successful.
That's kind of how I see it. Seriously, what are the odds of both Yao and Tracy being healthy for the full 08/09 season.
You are more forgiving than me. It will be a long time before I forget how Yao was contained by Okur's single coverage last year. And I damn sure won't forget T-Mac being harrassed by DPOY Ashton Kutcher, and being contained one-on-one by Kirilenko this year. I'm about ready to blow this team up. We've been spinning our wheels going on, what, four seasons now? T-Mac + Yao = 3 first round exits + trading a winning lottery ticket for glue? ("win now" LMFAO). It ain't happenin, folks.
