    Opening night:
    Alston
    Tmac
    Battier
    Hayes
    Yao

    To start the playoffs:
    Alston
    Francis
    Tmac
    Scola
    Yao

I think Adleman is going to see that Francis needs to start to be most effective while James is a superb "spark plug' player off the bench. I look for Bonzi to backup Battier and actually get more minutes than Shane. Scola will backup Yao in addition to starting at PF.

Luther will get a few minutes here and there and Deke will make a rare appearance on nights we face Shaq or Duncan or any other low post players.

Sorry but I can't see Battier being good enough to be a starter under Coach A and his system. I know this opinion won't be popular! :p

It looks to me that Scola is going to be such a significant part of our team that I now see Butler as being expendable and opening up a place for Harris and or Reed, as both of these players can contribute ona fast moving offence, when called upon to substitute from the bench. I also see Mutombo having a very insignificant role to play during the season but coming to full bloom in the early rounds of the playoffs. :p

I agree, our starting SF is TMac joined by Yao and Scola on the front line. I still believe that James and Francis will get most of the time at the guard positions. Rafer looked great last camp and preseason. I still think he is a reserve or gone. If TMac or Yao lobby for him, he might stay and even start. His shooting is a real liability over the long haul. I will admit, he handles the ball well.

Yeah, I don't see Shane starting once the season is well under way or the playoffs, since Adelman will favor offensively gifted players over more defensive types..he'll probably still get a lot of minutes to harass the other teams star players though.

When the season is on, it's probably gonna be like this:

    Starting lineup:
PG: Ralfer (with these much talent being loader, a unselfish and skillful distributor is very much needed, a ballhog like MJ is not acceptable in this position as a starter. You might want to take a look on the Team USA in the FIBA America during this summer and see how Jason Kidd did for that team.)
    SG: TMac
SF: Shane (his quickness and smartness will help Yao a lot especially in the defensive end. His 3 is deadly too.)
PF: It has to be Scola
    C: Yao

Well, SF, MJ, Hayes and Bonzi will get very solid minutes. Head is gonna get some meaningful time as long as he can hit 3 in a consistent basis. Deke will play very limited minutes but he will play especially when we play agaist a team with dominant big man inside.

MJ will mainly play the minutes when Yao is not on court or when TMac is badly off. He will get minutes from 1 and 2 position.

SF3 right now looks still fairly rusty. I think he will with Yao more than MJ.

Bonzi will be the major sub of Tracy and can play both 2 and 4 as well. It's actually a good thing for Rox.

Since Ralfer might probabaly play less than 30 mins a game, and Tracy will play a few minutes in 3 while Shane might play some time in 4, I believe all of them can get 20 - 25 minuts a game.

Hayes will share the minutes in 4 with Scola, maybe temporarily in 5.

I will keep my figure crossed to see how Head can fit himself into the Coach A's system. He's a horrible ball handler and very shaky to finish around the rim. But admittedly he's very reliable 3 point shooter under pressure (though not true in the last playoff). Usually Adelman liked playing 10 man rotation. So he might be able find a good 10-15 minutes in 1 and 2 position.

Rest of others will be falling into the category: "Who cares?" Either cut/waiver or forever bench warmer.

    great post above by maderzhao

so what you're trying to say is the following ?

    Alston 25 mints / James 15 mints / Steve 8 mints
    Tmac 15 mints / Bonzi 10 mints / Steve 10 mints / James 5 mints / Head 8 mints
    Shane 15 mints / Tmac 20 mints / Bonzi 10 mints / Scola 3 mints
    Scola 15 mints / Hayes 23 mints / Shane 5 mints / Bonzi 5 mints
    Yao 33 mints / Scola 10 mints / Deke 5 mints

Scola and Bonzi can play 3 positions each

Like many of you here, I'd like to see Francis start, but be realistic here...He isn't playing very well, with the exception of the third quarter tonight. As much as I thought Rafer would be gone before the season starts...he's definitely the best option here. I honestly don't see where Francis fits in here. Also, if I had to make a bet, I'd bet Battier starts. I mean, who doesn't have a man crush on Shane?

Scola's definitely starting. The second unit also plays with the starters and I'm very impressed with him. Chuck isn't gonna get the job out of respect...New system and Scola is much better fit for this system.

i love how shane gets taken for granted again. just like bonzi was going to start over him towards the middle of last season right? you need players like shane who are smart and make plays on both ends for you. he'll start every game he plays in this year.

scola looked fantastic next to yao but chuck is no slouch and is usually at his best when paired with t-mac. we're probably going to need the preseason to nail that down.

rafer is our starting pg, i'd bet money on that.

    rafer/james
    t-mac/francis/head
    battier/wells
    hayes/scola or scola/hayes
    yao

i think that'll be the 10 man rotation with mutombo getting minutes against bigger centers but scola sliding over to the 5 when he can. in small ball bonzi and battier can play a little 4, obviously not against elite pf's though.

I would personally like to see

    Skip
    TMac
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

but I think Adelman may tend towards

    Skip
    Bonzi
    TMac
    Scola
    Yao

with Battier, Head, Francis, and Head coming off the bench

    PG:MJ,Rafer,Francis,Brooks
    SG:T-Mac,Head,Wells,Snyder
    SF:Battier,Novak,Reed,Harris
    PF:Scola,Hayes,Landry
    C:Yao,Deke,Butler

We're so deep team that we don't have to worry about who's starting.
Ofcourse 4 players must be cut.

I don't think our starting lineup will be the same the entire year or even from week to week....I believe we are so talented and so deep that we can shift our starting lineup around for each opponent.

    SL1 (JVG lineup)
    Rafer-PG
    T-Mac-SG
    Battier-SF
    Hayes-PF
    Yao-C

    SL2-(Adelman lineup 1)
    Rafer-PG
    T-Mac-SG
    Battier-SF
    Scola-PF
    Yao-C

    SL-3 (Adelman lineup 2)
    Rafer-PG
    Bonzi-SG
    T-Mac-SF
    Scola-PF
    Yao-C

    SL-4 (Adelman lineup 3)
    SF3 (or James)-PG
    Bonzi-SG
    T-Mac-SF
    Scola-PF
    Yao-C

    SL-5
    SF3-PG
    Bonzi-SG
    Battier-SF
    T-Mac-PF
    Scola-C

    SL-6
    James-PG
    T-Mac-SG
    Battier-SF
    Hayes-PF
    Scola-C
