I live on Guam and won't see any Rockets games unless it's on ESPN or TNT and Sports Center highlights, can someone post a youtube clips from today's game or some clips that show Novak shooting, would love to see his stoke.

Did u even watch the game?? Few of the plays were specifically designed for Novak to get the shot from outside. At one point when there was only 7 sec left and Rox called a timeout, they designed the next play where Novak would get the shot. So at times he was the focal point on offense.

The way he has played 3 pre-season games and looking at his offesive skills and IQ for the game, he will significant playing time and will be a sure backup for Battier or Tmac. He will also get a chance to play during crunch time and close games. Novak has been the only player that has been consistent with his shots and hustle in all 3 games yet.

Also regarding him missing contested shots; he is still a rookie. Just because he missed them does not mean he will never make them. By judging at his shooting ability, he will soon learn how to make contested shots. I dont think he will fall out of the rotation because he will help the team by making outside shots when tmac penetrates and dishes out or when Yao dishes it out. Who would u choose to make the outside shots when the ball is passed out?? Ofcourse Novak!!

The thing that gets me most excited is that he should be the ideal person to make the entry pass to Yao. He has height and shooting ability. No one will cheat off him to double down on Yao.

Does his shooting style remind anyone else of Nowitski?

I can see 3 Rockets going to the all-star game..

Yao , Tracy, and Novak for the 3 point contest :)

anybody think he could make it to the 3 point shoot-out. Also, clutchfans shoud have a running bet/challenge as to when Novak misses his first free throw. I'm gonna say his 33rd attempt or january, depending on format.

I still think the Rockets blew it when they didn't draft Redick.

They should have taken both Redick (who is an even better shooter than Novak) and Novak.

Eventually this team would have been legendary on the offensive end.

Yeah and one of his 2's he was stepping on the 3 point line and another 3 was called off before he shot. And that's after he seemed a little off tonight until the end of the game. So you could say 2 for 7 is decieving.

It doesn't matter if he was 2 of 7. Novak's shot looks so good, you don't even care if he makes it. Novak's missed shot looks better than anyone else's MADE shot.

One of the purest shooters we've seen. If what we heard this offseason about him adding muscle (11 lbs?) wasn't bull****, then this guy may still have room to add more to his frame.

He has good quickness, and a good mid range jumper to go along with that 3-pt shot. If he can add some strength, he could stay on the floor more and be a PF. But the kind of improvement I'm talking about would take about 2 years, stabilizing his body fat % while adding muscle regularly.

Great second round pick. He is performing with the best of the rookies so far in the preseason. His role this season will be deadly - if Yao and T-Mac are on the floor, then Novak will make defenders cry.

This may be premature but the guy Novak reminds me of is a young Peja Stojakovich. Slight built, deadly from long range, can't really muscle anyone but moves well without the ball, sees the court well, passes to the open man and again appears to be deadly when left open from long range.

Being a coaches kid, if he continues to work hard and studies the game, we gotta keeper here.

He didn't hesitate on any of those shots either. That is what I like to see. I know he is a great shooter but he needs to stay confident and not be afraid to shoot like he was at the end of the game. I think that is when he misses. He had a couple of nice 2 pt. jump shots which I want to see more of. His shot is so quick he can get it off on just about anyone at any distance.
