One thing that makes Monta so effective around the basket (even in half court sets) is that in addition to being tremendously quick with great leaping ability, he gets up in the air so far away from the basket, well before defenders can get set. The defenders then have a choie of eating a knee and taking a foul or moving out of the way. Even when they foul him, he has excellent body control so he's often looking at an And1. This further discourages opposing players from fouling him.
Granger gets his baskets, but I'm not sure if he even plays within the offense. His D is pretty good though.
The Warriors announcers were completely calling that. Monta fouls out with a career-high 45 pts and 6 min left in the game. By the way, that wasn't a charge. Murphy was late. Still, Monta has to recognize they need him on the floor. He was swiping at Granger on the defensive end right before that charge.
Think the Warriors are still trying to trade Ellis? Headaches and maturity issues aside -- I sure hope not.
Who here would trade Yao for Monta straight up, salary issues not considered? Do consider the positives/negatives of both players (injury, age, attitude, etc...).
Are we getting a big back? What are we doing with Brooks? I personally don't think it'd help us team wise unless we had another center.
I would do that, but i do like the guy alot and he's what 23? CJ watson is a pretty good player also and maggette is as effecient as they come.
LOL. Did anybody see Hansbrough nearly spaz out when he thought they didn't call a foul? I know a lot of players do that but it just looks funny when Hansbrough does it.
I thought for sure you'd do it, lee. I'm not afraid to say I would (esp. in the Dish where I won't get flamed as much  ). I'm not trying to overrate Monta. I'm just saying that Yao is nearly 30 years old with a reconstructed foot. If they were both 24, no way. As is, yes way. There are probably 50 to 100 players I'd trade Yao for at this point. No disrespect to Yao but he's likely going downhill from here.
Unless Monta is BSing, more Warriors coaching fail to add to that already present massive bucket of fail. In his postgame interview on NBA TV, Barry jokingly asked him how he fouled out before getting 50. Monta's response: "I didn't even know I had 5 fouls." Fail.
That was a complete meltdown. Bad move by O'Brien to put in Hibbert. In hindsight that single decision probably cost them the game.
