White's always pushed for entertaining, electric fights... he awards cash bonuses for KOs. He's always been a fan of Rampage, because he knows that Jackson's arguably the best knockout artist in MMA. Fans pay to see the big KOs, and Jackson's always been a heavy-handed power fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if he backs the decision, and mentions Machida's lack of aggression/willingness to scrap.
Its nice to see Rampage take it. I thought he had the first two rounds. Plus like a lot of you mention, I'm tired of these guys trying to avoid him all fight and win off of points. I sure wish Rampage would have had another thirty seconds in that fight with Rashad. I'm looking forward to the rematch and will go with Rampage in that one.
Worst thing about UFC is most of it's fans. Maybe it's an American thing, but every event it's just Booooo!!!! from the crowd, all the f'n time. International crowds, like the fights in Japan are always more respectful and attentive.
Yeah, people in the U.S just don't understand how fortunate we really are compared to other countries...
That he did, in the press conference actually. Rampage was pretty good at cutting off the cage with angles and seemed to have fixed some of his cardio issues. I have feeling Machida felt that he should resort to his former passive style of defending and waiting for his opponents to make a mistake after his slight aggression lead to his defeat by Shogun. I like his style but he has to know octagon control and aggression are vital to the 10 point must system. He milked the system for his advantage in good amount of his wins, and now it worked against him when he couldn't get off any big shots (except the last round). I hope he finds a way to be both elusive and aggressive.
