I caught Ricky's last year. 3 of my brothers and sisters witnessed Kramer (man, I forgot that), but I did get to witness his successful following in the footsteps of Fran. That's so awesome that you got to run patterns with Kramer. My claim to fame is throwing an alley-oop to Ricky is a summer pickup game once (when he was in the NBA). He was p.r.e.t.t.y. intimidating in the dorm elevators, and 10x that after becoming a stud NBA player. When he walked out onto Autry to join our pickup game that had some guards for Rice, I thought, "OK, now I really am intimidated." The PG told me the first day I met him at Sid if they'd mind if I played, "If you can hang, you can hang." But not with Ricky. So, after being spared having to play against him (he selected our team), I thought,,,OK, just make him look good and then exit stage right. I threw the alley-oop cheered and did the George Castanza "exit on a high note" thing and left for another day. This reminds me: UT never produced a better BBall player than Ricky. UT never produced a better hitter than Berkman UT never produced a better quarterback than Kramer, and UT never produced a better tennis player than Harold Solomon. and UT never made fools of the Aggie band like Rice did. and Rice is #1 in the nation in graduation rate for athletes.
