Just gotta look at more relevant stats. 66th all time in WS and 26th in WS/48. 21st in Box Plus/Minus
I think that's over now. I don't think young guys give a damn about Pop. He has about as much appeal as Sloan did in Utah at the end of his run. No Duncan, Manu, or Kawhi. Parker is ancient. Aldridge lost all of his star power. That dynasty is dead. The organization did a great job of keeping their core together during their championship runs but the way Kawhi jumped ship speaks to their relevancy now. Star players arent going there on a discount to chase rings anymore. Their star player wanted out so bad he demanded a trade and basically quit on the coach. That's a rare level of poorly run organizational failure. I agree that the Spurs were 2nd to none thanks in large part to their core 3. That's not the case anymore. We will see if they can rebuild in this current era of NBA. I don't think they can. They are closer to the Mavs right now than the Rockets as far as organizations go.
Is it not illegal to not give a shooter space to land? I've seen it called a foul on several occasions. Manu was a very cerebral player and knew Brooks would be entering a shooting motion. He should have never been trying to take a charge at halfcourt with two seconds left in the first place.
...but if he had played more minutes, he also wouldn't have been making key plays for his team in his late 30s....maybe he doesn't kill Houston in the 4th two years ago in that swing game if he had been a starter for most of his career.
Not really. if it was, then we wouldn’t see guys get charge calls when the opposing player is going to the basket and in the air attempting a shot. Giving space to land isn’t a must in those cases.
