have a friend in a scouting department in the nfl and he checked out davis for the nfl draft...was told that he spent more time in the training room than on the court.
Very well said people are talking like this is the NFL Draft. there is no value to the position you pick in the NBA draft after the Top 2 picks this year, every pick is basically a crapshoot IMO. And i would like to know who is this person of value that you get at 26 anybody picked there has something to pick apart in there game.
i don't know much about any of these guys so there's not going to be any disappointment on who we pick. i think big baby can hit the mid-range jumper and he's big enough to get physical. we're talking a gamble at 26 with anyone, i wouldn't have a problem with him if that was the pick.
Yes to Glen Davis, I had a feeling he would be a Rocket since LSU got the knock 2 years ago. He works out at the Fonde Center downtown all the time. If I were Rox brass i would target these guys with the 26th pick: Josh Mc Roberts Glen Davis
I find it hard to believe they'd feel that strongly about him, though. I agree with your assessment, primarily because some do have him going early 2nd round. But if mid to late second round was or is the consensus, I think they'd be foolish not to trade down. The difference between guaranteed and non-guaranteed contract seems like a big one, to me.
Davis is interesting to me. And if we think he is going to be a decent NBA player at 26 don't think about trading down--too many good front offices then will get their shot. I would be OK going into next season with options like Hayes, Barnes (MLE) or Cook (Head trade), + draft of Davis or McRoberts (big/banger PF). Once it became apparent Battier just can't rebound well enough to play PF this group gives us better players and options to man the 4 than last year.
I have read Davis is being reported as currently having around 11% to 12% body fat. Josh McRoberts currently has around 13.7% body fat. Definetly agree Davis will constantly have to watch his weight through out his NBA career.
