I love hearing interviews with Davis. He's a character and one of those people its really easy to root for (even when he's not on the hometown team). To be honest, I am more knowledgeable about him than any other PF options that may go close to the #26 mark because he's from an SEC school.

If they do take him though, it may be interesting to see if they do a sign and trade with Chuck. (maybe that depends on who they get as a PF from free agency and other trades)

I also can't see Big Baby and Yao on the floor at the same time ... he could be a back up C though.

The closest this guy will get to Josh Howard is to buy his jersey off NBA.Com. I hold JVG responsible for Davis gaining so much weight.

No doubt........or a young Barkley.......or Boozer....all players with weight problems coming into the NBA.

Not so much a young Traylor....

That JVG guy is going to keep screwing up this franchise for years....DANG HIM !!!

    :D

If he was tall, fit, and a hard consistent rebounder I think he would be a good fit on the team.
He is a 2nd rounder IMO. Fazekas has good height, and can score around the rim in addition to shooting but he is not quick unlike Big Baby. Both of them should be 2nd rounders IMO.

Big Baby could be a steal in the 2nd if the Rockets can find a way to pick up an extra pick, but no way at 26.

i'd rather take a gamble on herbert hill in the mid 2nd round than baby in late first or early 2nd

What sort of defence would Davis be able to play against jumpshooting Power Forwards like Boozer and Duncan? At 6'8" or below he would have to have great jumping ability, which he does not.

Can yall imagine if we can get an early second round pick, and be able to draft Sean Williams and Big Baby. That would give us nice depth at the PF/C positions

Barkley was explosive and Boozer wasn't as fat as big baby.

Here's a video from the Washington Wizards site showing part of Davis' workout a few days ago with the Wizards, and he talks about it some as well.

    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uqVB0OMb65M"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uqVB0OMb65M" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Looks like his pick-and-roll defense needs some work.

this is exactly why morey said that the PF's need to have different skillsets. hayes is our defender. now bring in a guy who can be an offensive weapon. besides, he can't be a worse defender than juwon.

Well, he has Sebastian Telfair's stamp of approval -- what more proof do we need? :)

Seriously, weight issues aside, Davis plays with emotion and enthusiasm, two words that were foreign to Benoit Benjamin. I'd take a chance at #26 on him, then tell him he has to live in the weight room during the off-season.

It's not like Webber and Miller/Divac were all that fast. What really matters in this offense is if the big guys can set screens, pass, and hit the 15 ft jumper.

There's much better players available at the #26 pick. Big Baby is fat tub of lard who played like crap last year.
