I am a big proponent of Morey and advanced metrics. I believe that the NBA needs to be shaken up. The Rockets main problem right now is defensive rotations. Those are learned and do not vary. FG% can be all over the place and generally will return to the mean. The Rockets now have a couple of weeks to practice and work on their weaknesses. And get some rest after a brutal December. I am very optimistic.
Hey, thanks for posting this! This is the PRIME example of why I made this thread. If you notice while the ball handler gets the pick, theres always a screen set for the shooter (Chase Budinger) on the weakside at the same time. As opposed to our current system where everyones standin around the perimeter waiting to catch & chuck. I always appreciated Adelman, but watching this video made me realize how much better of a system he runs. The guy's a genius
Do not mistake a highlight reel for game tape. Advanced stats provide a clear and concise overview. Use them or watch a few hundred hours of game tape. Seriously. Read this over and over: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=8566907
Are you trying to say that video of Adelman's offense wasn't clear & concise? Maybe you watch some game tape Adelman's coaching history here has the has the highest winning% of any other coach. His overall coaching history is also very impressive. Not sure about this comment The only superstar they have is Love. Kmart is a very efficient scorer, but does nothing else. Rubio's known to be a good defender, but can't shoot. NOBODY expected the Timberwolves to do anything this year. You may be the only one slightly out your kilter with reality
I've noticed this issue. It seems we don't really run anything, just random iso's, if nothing comes of it then drive and kick out to the perimeter for another iso. I get the 'take what the defense gives' but watching the games I keep waiting to see cutters for the ball handler to hit and I'm not seeing it. Casspi maybe the exception, maybe Jones here and there, but by and large there doesn't seem to be a lot of movement off the ball.
We substituted a Hall of Fame coach for a conman who ripped off the timberwolves franchise which is just so sickening. Lets not reveal too much how adelman's system works mchale might improve his pirated version. It starts with the power forward receiving the ball in the high post in a triple threat position (dribble , pass , shoot) depending on how the defense reacts the offense reads this and adjusts accordingly.
This is Rick Adelman kings during the early 2000's....notice how its Chris Webber instead of Chuck Hayes doing the high post work. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/vglV2qpoD70" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
We are not a jump shooting team. We take the fewest jump shots in the league. It's just that the ones we do take are mostly 3's.
So Mchale can take his pirated read and react offense .....twist it sideways and stick it..... The world would be a better place if sweet talking conmen like kevin mchale were not rewarded. This is how the kings were robbed in 2002. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qjRcTiwVEwo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If we're going to hire someone to be the " leader of men' , face of the franchise, why not hire someone like Dream, or Mario Elie, Sam Cassell, or even Clyde Drexler, players who actually care for the rockets. How can you trust someone who ripped off the timberwolves franchise and didn't care about the public fallout as long as the Celtics won a championship? Why do we have to reward a Boston Celtic Con Man, oh wait, he did rip off the timberwolves and sent the franchise player to Boston so he has to be rewarded for that with a high paying coaching position.
Tonite is the PERFECT example of not running any plays. Just Harden chucking his way to 38pts. No Parsons, no Dwight, nobody else touched the ball down the stretch. I'm starting to think McHale's not getting it. Might be time to start looking at George Karl
Agree perfect example, the last minutes of the game should not be iso ball, even if he got Howard the ball that too would be iso, because Mchale doesn't draw anything up.
I could see this being effective. Haven't seen it much if at all this year. <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="width:450px; height:366px;" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/YQA6w7ZShy0?color2=FBE9EC&version=3"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YQA6w7ZShy0?color2=FBE9EC&version=3" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> </object><div style="font-size: 0.8em"><a href="http://www.tools4noobs.com/online_tools/youtube_xhtml/">Get your own valid XHTML YouTube embed code</a></div>
19 points in one half= Testament to lack of plays All OKC did was press us in the 2nd half and we ran scared. The Rockets offense is STRICTLY based on forcing fastbreak shots (even when its not there). Our half court sets are the worst in NBA history. All from the 3rd most efficient offense in the league :roll eyes PLEASE HURRY UP AND GET GEORGE KARL!!!
