Lol. Exactly.. I really don't see what some other "see" in him. He wants to play badly yet he does not understand the system? Sounds like he is dumb. I have more confidence in Dragic learning the system before Williams does. He should really watch other's play closely.. or watch videos after videos to teach himself if he is that hungry.
It takes time to learn the system. Dragic is more familiar with it because there's similarities with what he ran in Phoenix. The problem is Twill isn't a perfect match for this offense, at least not now. You gotta break a player down and teach him a different approach. He's used to creating on his own and just making the pass. You're not going to change that approach overnight. He made one his last game or the one prior to that.
I think the best way is to think long term and enjoy watching the rotation with extended minutes to Chase, Terrence and Patrick. People don't understand that we are officially a young team. There should be some ups and downs ahead but I like the crop we will harvest. Playoff push They will be fun to watch and I ll take tough losses over uninspiring play/
Well, it's impressive to see the Rockets still fighting hard. But let's be honest, the team has to find another superstar player. Guys like Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady were taking this team hostage for a few years now. We got rid of that one cancer, Tracey, now let's rid ourselves with Yao. Yao Ming has to go. now. please.
bandwagoners are not the same as fair-weathered fans.. this rockets team is not worthy of having a bandwagon. had the rockets acquired melo and seen a spike in rockets "fans", that would have been considered a band wagon.. the heat have bandwagon fans, the packers have bandwagon fans.. the rockets dont. fair-weathered fans are the fans who only come around, watch, or talk about their team when the are doing great... who is anyone here to call another fan a bandwagoner or fair-weathered fan... we're all here talking about a 31-32 team a couple years removed from contention..
On the surface, his style of play isn't that far off from what is needed at the PG spot right now. Morey's been bringing in PGs (Lowry, Ish Smith, Dragic) who can push the pace, drive into the teeth of the defense and make the right pass. None are great jump shooters but that's okay because we have Martin, Lee and Budinger. Williams is similar to the other PGs, and as a physical talent, probably superior to them. But as you point out, he seems more used to creating his own shot or else making the eye-catching assist. He doesn't seem to understand how to control the pace, set up the offense or be effective without the ball just yet, and he will have to learn these things if he wants to be the point guard IMO.
