All he has to do is hit his outside shot consistantly and he will get a nice chunck of min in the season & if he can't well we all know wats gona happien than.
Boki looked bad yesterday night, but I would still like to see him get some regular playing time. If by mid-season, he still stinks, then I would be ready to give up on him.
Does anybody recall how Nachbar performed during this summer's Olympics? Only thing I can remember is that he didn't make an impression and was not talked about much. If that is the case, then I think combining how he performed during Summer and last night's game would show that he probably won't make it.
Slovenia did not qualify for the 2004 Olympic games in Athens. They participated in an Olympic qualifying tournament for European teams after the Athens 04' Games had finished. Slovenia had qualified half way through so they allowed the NBA players to go back to their respective cities to start focusing on preseason work with their respective coaches. Last night is last night, 1 preseason game.
One game a career does not make, buy Boki needs to reallly bring it this season or he won't be here next season. Do or die, put up or shut up. He won't get five years like Francis did.
The Chronicle has reported that Jeff Van Gundy loves Nachbar's work ethic, but I agree that things don't look good for the guy. He looked like he was playing not to make a mistake last night, yet still ended up with four turnovers and a few missed shots. Not even the training camp "extra bodies" flubbed like he did. Still, there is one thing he can do to stay on the team: Defense. He looked pretty bad against Wade, but Wade is Wade. That's a tough assignment for anybody. We'll see how well he works on the Kings' swingmen this week. Managing to D up might be his only hope, because there isn't much chance to shine for a one-dimensional finisher in the Rockets' offense.
Nevermind this year, he better bring it in the next "twenty days" or he won't be here next season. He has had 3 years and has not produced. People around here talk about his playoff performance against the Lakers like it was the second coming of Christ, but in actuality it was really nothing more than hustle play. Nachbar is as good as gone, and anyone who thinks he will turn into a deadeye shooter by the end of the month or this year, for that matter, is overly optimistic.
To quote the wise AI: "Hey I hear you, it's funny to me to, hey it's strange to me too but we're talking about practice man, we're not even talking about the game, when it actually matters, we're talking about practice."
Yep... But we have yet to see a full game with Tmac/JJ and Nachbar running the floor for 35+ minutes. I'm saving my judgment for this team. I mean, did we ever expect a fast-break to be completed during the Francis days? I think that with good D and better executed fast-breaks we'll be able to see Boki at his best game. Spot up shooting is not his strong point (He's no Bullard).
It's just one preseason game, but Nachbar only has until 10/30 to prove his worth. If he continues to play like this in the preseason, he will not get his 4th year option picked up. If that option isn't picked up, he's in for a lame duck season. JVG will have no pressing need to invest in his getting better and Boki will have an even harder time getting minutes. So, he's got something like 7 more preseason games to play well in -- and who knows if he gets minutes in all of them. He really cannot afford to repeat this performance.
Yep, I am pulling for him, trying to see the potential and think the best, but truth is in the NBA you better produce. Right now it is the memories of his hustle in the playoffs last season that keeps me thinking.. Also Bowen didn't show me much either. These preseason games are pretty important for the back ups. I thought Gaines showed more than Boki and Bowen
Boki Sucks & I'm basing my decision on the past 2 seasons.. Has no knowledge of the game, never will, never had... Out!!
Im not gona make a com bak statment on your post, I'll just let Boki com on the court and do his thing... & if he dosn't do it than i guess you are right.
I'm not just trying to down Boki, but I've gotten impatience on waiting for him to show me something.. At first it was him adapting to the NBA, then it was he isn't getting enough playing time, now he is getting some playing time and isn't doing anything.. Now I wonder why he wasn't getting playing time, because of his bad decision making skills... Come on guys we are giving him to much credit.. Let the man earn it on the court... In which he hasn't yet.. You guys act as if he is an All-Star in the making.
