    All I know is this....

In early 1993, I was unemployed, and I watched Clinton's inauguration. Within 3 months, I landed a job at the best place I've ever worked for...a well known art museum in Los Angeles, which lasted until I decided to move back to Houston in 1998.

Today is my last day on my current consulting contract, so technically I will be unemployed after today. On Tuesday, I will watch Barack Obama's inauguration, and I'm hoping for the same better times ahead.

Yes, I was unemployed at the end of both the Bush 41 and Bush 43 administrations. Personally, my fortunes soared during the Clinton administration, and I am hoping they do as well during the Obama administration.

Republican presidents make sure the economy is good for rich people.
Democrat presidents make sure the economy is good for all people.

Thank God we are getting a Democrat back in the White House.

Conservatives allow you to work hard, and advance.

Liberals take away the need to make money. I'd actually made more before my job gave me a raise.

You do realize you said you had a job for a longer period of time during the Bush administration than you did under the Clinton? ;)

Over the past year, I haven't seen Bush do much of anything conservative, in fact I've seen little conservative principles in his second term period.

Unless you need public education in order to do the kind of work that will help you advance. In that case the conservatives hurt your chances to work hard and advance.

For Republicans, every day is July 4

For Democrats, every day is April 15

    B*ll*****.

Conservatives allow you to work hard just to get laid off.
    Liberals create jobs.

    End of story.

    1. Anthrax has already been noted, and how can you write "He kept us safe?" Forgetting Katrina already I see.
    2. While exploding the debt and crippling the country for the foreseeable future.
    3. He just had to lie the country into war and sacrifice thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to finally pay back Saddam for his insult to Daddy.

When teachers aren't paid fairly, schools don't have supplies, students don't have opportunities, classrooms are over crowded, etc.

Say what you want, but they limit your ability to succeed. I don't need elected officials to get me a job or keep my job. Life is what you make of it. Liberals artificially inflate the economy. Let the economy decide for itself.

That was bizarre. It could have been his farewell speech from 2004. It was like the last 4 years didn't exist. Truly bizarre.

Teachers make more than me in a year, despite having the same degree, and working for 3 fewer months a year, they just have less room for growth. Students certainly have opportunities, they should just look for themselves rather than expect to be handed everything. I loved public school. I can't believe people actually would send their kids to private schools.

I think it is the attitude of this society that brings everything down. We focus on the wrong things. We don't encourage enough self-discipline. We get bailed out for most of our mistakes. I also don't consider it a National issue.

Was public school that bad for you?

Actually teachers have to have post graduate work to get their teaching degree. It can be argued that the level of importance to the society should increase their salary to attract the brightest minds to the profession.

In addition you didn't address supplies, class size, additional training and proffessional development for teachers etc.

These things are shown to be effective but they do cost money.
