I actually disagree with some of what you said. If you listen to his morning radio show JVG discussed wanting to get shots earlier in the shot clock because they score more effeciently. Also, if you watch him on the sideline he is constantly waving his arms to get the guards to bring the ball up quicker.

    :( :( :( :(

But I can't say I'm not suprised. JVG is stubborn, that is part of his persona, we all know this.

His system won't work for this team. There is no point limiting TMac to jumpshots all night, no point in having Yao set pointless screens and postups (if he doesn't get the ball).

As the Sam Smith article said, "JVG isn't a bad coach, he is just the wrong coach for this team."

    Ill- Skillz, you enjoying that?

you know, I can sit here and point out some of the the decisions he makes that I dont agree with, like having Mcgrady play off the ball running around screens, or calling timeouts at the wrong times, but I still respect the fact that he is the coach of the Houston Rockets. Of course I don't want him fired just yet. But even if I did, I wouldn't get pleasure out of ragging on him as if he was the coach of the Utah Jazz. You seem to be falling in that trap, as many on here seem to be, where you secretly enjoy the team struggling because of your dislike of JVG. don't fall into that trap. its weak.

What is the "right"system? What would you do differently. Everyone says they don't like his system, what would you run?

Any system. JVG doesn't have an offensive system.

SF acted like an ass last year. That was his own doing and not JVG's fault. I really think JVG and CD saw an opportunity to go after a real superstar in T-Mac and deal with a guy who, in many ways, didn't seem to want to be part of the program. I still think it's a good deal.

The only "hole" that is different from last year is losing Cato's 10 rebounds per game. That's a big deal and it needs to be resolved. But, for some reason, I think the Rox can ultimately find a better answer than Cato. It just wasnt' there in the offseason (too many fat ugly contracts being handed out).

NBA has JVG's playbook. The 1 or 2 plays he runs is already on the opposing team's chalkboard before the game begins.

Steve did indeed act like a headstrong player who did not want to follow the orders of his coach. Then you look at this year where TMac says basically the exact same things that Steve said without the attitude. Yao is a wreck. Maybe it was good for Steve that he b****ed his way out of here. Can anyone imagine how effed up Steve would feel with a 2nd season of JVG?

I am not sure what games you are watching but I have seen ALOT of players with open shots, and I have seen ALOT of players miss said shots. How is that the fault of JVGs offense?

T-mac is FAR superior to SF. Not even debatable. T-mac has never played with a low-post presence. It will take him a little time to adjust, but once he does you will see that SF can't hold T-mac's jock.

You hit the nail on the head. We need a Cato with better lateral quickness, and some semblence of a jump shot.

I read this and thought, "Damn, dude. Your team is sucking and you aren't even thinking you might make adjustments?"

But, this annoyed me even more...

With a day off Sunday, eight Rockets players along with team owner Leslie Alexander and general manager Carroll Dawson attended the Texans' win over the Titans.

At Reliant Stadium, the Rockets got a warm, loud greeting, a reaction that amused Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy on Monday.

"If we were 9-6, they would have stampeded the place," he said, laughing. "This is a good town, man. You get applauded at 6-9. Man. Houston people are really nice."

Dude, count your blessings. He's basically smirking at the fact that Houstonians are nice people. Classy.

I never said TMac is on the same level player as SF, but I do think they are similar in terms of how they score. They both drive to the baskets to get buckets. They both like to dribble first before shooting jumpers.

One thing in common they both have is a disdain for the "system" JVG has on the court. The comments in recent days illustrate that.

I've watched almost everygame and there are still times that somebody has to rush a shot at the end because the 24 is running out. I see us getting almost no easy points. The only person that get consistent open looks in his spot is JJ in the corner.

"When I was in New York, with a different army, we always managed managed to defeat our enemies with bladed weapons and arrows. Our first batallion was wiped out, except for the messenger sent to tell us the enemy has armor, automatic weapons, and is ten times our size. I don't care if Tracius McGradius excels with a machine gun, but is useless with a bow. I'm now more sold than ever that all we have to do is be more accurate with our bows. I don't waiver in what I believe wins!

I was at the Texans game and by the time everyone figured out it was the Rox on the screen, they were back off. Mostly people gave a decent cheer followed by a discernable murmur. I heard someone crack on Deke. It really shouldn't be taken as anything other than proving that the average Texans fan is not as whiny as your average Rox fan. Give them a couple of more seasons and some playoff disappointment though and I'm fairly sure that the average Texans fans will feel the need to exert their god-given right to b**** incessantly. There was some booing of Chris Palmer. It seems he knows as much about football offense, according to numerous Texans coaching experts, as JVG knows about basketball offense, according to alot of you morons.

The difference is that the texans are fun to watch and are improving with every season. The rockets on the other hand are worse than they were two years ago and are as exciting to watch as yarn knitting.
