I think our fans would be all killing themselves if we were the New York Knicks - that team has no future, $100+ million dollar payroll, and Isiah freaking Thomas as their GM. The Rockets have 2 young stars. They are not old, and all we have to do is put decent, young, hustling role players around them. The Bobcats made a team out of no-bodies (except Okafor) and they hustle like a college team. That's basically what we need and we have plenty of time to do it. Our stars are not in the twilight of there careers like the Dream, Barkley and Drexler years, we have time. Calm down everyone. Remember "Choke City"? It worked out eventually right?
Real fans who live in Dallas also fall ASLEEP while watching Rockets games on Directv's NBA League Pass...
Lardy Lardy! I'll bet this news has San Antonio, Denver, Utah, Minnesota and Dallas quaking with fear...
Look, I'm not saying that YOU are a bandwagoner. I have my gripes about this team as well. I get VERY frustrated watching them. My post was directed at this thread starter, who basically said the he/she is giving up on the team, selling his/her season tickets and NOT renewing them next season. I know that we pay money to see our Rockets play and it is extremely disapointing when they don't live up to expectations, but I'm not going to give up my lifelong fandom after a third of a season of mediocrity. I'm a Rockets fan for life, through good and bad, and I apologize if I've offended you, but that's just my opinion.
Not to be rude, but the team was REBUILT this year what did you think was gonna happen....all the hype has been around just to sell TIX... I will keep my season TIX, and will buy next year if the price doesnt go up... It took 2 years for our core group of guys that rudy set to make the playoffs we need to give them more time...
Time? Give them more TIME you say? That's one of my all time favourite songs so in honor of your request (and thanks to Pink Floyd), here is more "time" for CD, JVG and the Rockets... Ticking away the moments that make up the dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find that ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or a half page of scribbled lines Hanging on in a quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone the song is over, thought i'd something more to say
I hate to tell you this but the homeless park is gone. It's been fenced off and is undergoing some sort of change. The squirrels may still be there though.
Nowhere near the extent the Lakers were rebuilt, and the Los Angeles ballclub has a serious shot at the sixth spot in the playoffs. Of course, they are also fortunate enough to have a championship-caliber head coach...
I can understand you having a different view point than other people, but that does not give you the right to be insulting the way you are. Calling people "dumb ass" brings nothing positive or insightful to the situation, and only makes you look worse. Make your argument with facts, not with profanity or insults. I understand your growing frustration with the team and coach, but I don't understand you being inclined to bash anyone who shares a different opinion. As Codell alluded to earlier, grow up. The same coach Laker fans are screaming to be fired?
Thank you . . ye old sage of reason You can only be truly hurt by something that you truly love Rocket River
I suppose there are a handful of malcontents out there in Lakerland. You can't have a forum about anything without them. However, the thread in question is on: page three. last post, 12/21/2004 45 replies. There are literally a couple dozen threads on those three pages with at least that many responses, and ten or so with double or triple the number of replies. Our own "FIRE GUNDY!!!" thread has 278 replies, one as recent as this afternoon, and only the game threads come close in total replies.
Sticking by your team when they roll over and play dead means your a "homer", not a true fan. Most of us are upset because we know the entire organization, from the court up, is better than this.
I don't blame you for not renewing your tickets, that's a boatload of money that I certainly don't have. However, you're crazy if you're going to give up on this team. Especially after what we in Houston saw the Astros do this year...I admit, I gave up on them. I never give up on the Rockets, though, and I won't this year. Don't care who the coach or players are, as long as they want to win. This team may not go deep into the playoffs this year, but they will make it...and the future is still bright.
No offense Gummi......but B friggin S on that!! Yes....I am a HOMER....the definition of that is someone that always believes the team can do better, and that no matter what, they will continue to support the team... now...just how the hell is that NOT a "true fan"? explain it to me like I am *special*.....cause I dont understand your reasoning.
