I'm on board for yellow and red.... still. I agree with the sentiment that we need to usher in a new era. There are new days ahead..
Ketchup and mustard unis looked terrible, you like them because of Hakeem+championship nostalgia. Current Rockets logo+uniforms look nice
Current logo and uniforms are starting to grow on me. Harden makes them look good. I still would like a change of the cut to a more traditional NBA jersey; something like the cut on the Knicks uni's
because red and yellow are 2/3 of the colors of your average hot dog. Am I the only one who saw this? Everytime I saw the old unis, all I could think of was this:
It goes back to the Yao days. The Rockets officials didn't want to be accused of playing Yao year-round on the same team. Plus, they didn't want to be seen as pandaring directly to the Chinese market with the Red China colors. When you adopt this look (see below), it's hard to recover any fashion sense. I can't believe they made Hakeem wear that uniform.
Man I would be okay if these alternates were worn as our main jerseys, a lot better than our current jersey imo.
I honestly am starting to think that the NBA doesn't want us to have those colors because too many other teams have red or yellow as primary colors.

If the Rockets were winning championships in the current uniform, everybody would be saying oh look at these jerseys, they're the best we ever had blah blah blah.
No our current jerseys are bad regardless.... I don't mind the color scheme. Its mainly the cut of the jersey that everyone has issues with. It definitely is one of the weirdest cuts out there for an nba jersey. The current jersey with the sleeve cut of the Heat or Lakers jerseys would be good enough for me.
Like who? The only other team that ever had a red and yellow look was Atlanta during the 'Nique era and in the 2000's decade. The Heat's alternates throughout history come close but that's a different shade of red not to mention the Cavs, who incorporate more blue than yellow. In pro sports, I can only think of the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins (different shade of red) St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Cardinals logo who currently have it (I'm not current on the NHL though). I'm tired of thinking for now but I know I'm close.
Cavs, Duh! Yes it is a deep wine red, and not the brighter red of the rockets, howevet it is similar. That being said, Nets/Spurs anyone?
Ehh, even the Cavs look is different from the rockets red and yellow look mainly because of the darker shade of red. It's like saying the Wizards shouldn't have changed to their current look (which like the one I'm proposing, is historical I might add) because the Clippers and Sixers also a red and blue.
Hypothetically speaking, is there be any interest here in my rebranded jerseys from a purchase point of view? I'd like to get these made but have no one or nothing to make them for... I'm only in the very early stages of looking into production, so it may not even happen. Just seeing if there's any interest. Just puttin' it out there.
