i see where you're coming from, tinman. here is my take.

bball, as we know it, is a team sport, unlike tennis. different eras, different teams, different opponents, etc. all have to be taken into account here. john stockton has never won a title, magic has 5 (?). does that make stockton a much inferior pg to magic? i think not.

as to individual achievement, harden at this point imo is on par with mcgrady. in the playoffs, yeah he went to the finals, but as a 6th man. when he was THE guy, he disappears after the 1st round as well, other than last yr. well, mcgrady's team faced a prime time pistons and mavs team, and sloan's utah team; last yr. we played a crappy mavs team and they even had to pull out their starting pg halfway thru the series. almost lost to the clips in an embarrassing manner until josh smith and company pulled a magic comeback while harden was on the bench. when it was harden's time to shine when we played gsw, all he got was nothing but stats to show just like mcgrady.

i'd say at this point harden is pretty much on par with mcgady (hopefully this doesnt make the harden fans too mad). but let's wait until harden finishes his career.

cold blooded highlights. It was strange, in one summer he is the only one that can score against the jazz in the playoffs. By the end of that summer, he couldn't even jump over a credit card. Dat injury!

I don't think he's trolling. It's all good. Respect to him and Rocket River. We're just fans talkin' here.

Forgive what? I don't forgive tmac fans for always thinking he has no responsibility for the team's failures.

I rag on Harden for lack of D and TO's but he has already accomplished so much more as a Houston Rocket than T Mac and he will have separated himself from TMac by the end of his Rockets tenure.

    It won't even be close.

You give him that better defensive coach earlier in his career and I think he'd blossomed more.

    Same goes for Harden btw

Something is up with this management

I think one WC (luck involved) and one 2nd round outing in 17 or 18 years is just underwhelming with the past talent level. Period.

Teams with McGrady, Yao, Francis, Howard and Harden should have made at least 4 WCs and 2 Finals.

Period. That is the standard Morey, Alexander apologists failed to realize and posters blame it all on 1 or 2 players.

It is on 'them'. We should hold them accountable and as much as Morey had done he and Alexander are together responsible for coaching changes and MEDIOCRITY throughout the years!!!

You fail to realize the difference between general fans and a only fan. There are many Rockets fans who miss Mac as seen in this thread.

Everyone has had a ex gf who we decide to remember the good times with instead of bad (atleast that is what you do to move on) but by the looks of it you cant make that connection since your ex was prob a old computer you ran into the ground from bring on here so much. Fighting people online is so pathetic if it is not about something important like the present mess this team is in, and this is coming from someone who you prob have 15yrs on..

The Harden vs Mac debate had a lot of traction last year when Harden was at his peak. His plummet is worse compared to mac for the sole reason that mac had injuries and set backs... What are Hardens reasons again? No really....

You want to talk about games mac threw? How many compliations and vines are being made on the daily exposing Har en?

Now i will be labeled a tof since i am not supporting a current Rocket? Go for it

Howard put up 28 and 14 in the playoffs two years ago, better than any of Yao's playoff seasons. And Howard last year was probably better than Yao too, except for maybe the 07 season.

    Better coach yup.

Disagree with teammates, only comparable squad was 09, Tmac started a steep decline in the 06 season.

I'd take last year's Harden over Tmac's 05 season, but this year's version, I'm not so sure. Tmac played good defense that year too. He was like Paul George except more offensively gifted.

Nobody injured Tmac, he didn't take care of himself.

Yao had Tim Thomas fall on his foot. Before that Yao was healthy all the time.

    Tmac's DNPs = no help

Harden has some issue, but it's not health.. at least you can count on him to play, which toward the end of the tmac era, you were held hostage on if he played or not

Peak Mcgrady was more talented and far more athletic than Harden. Rocket's Mcgrady for the most part was fat and slow relative to Orlando T-Mac. Watching his Orlando highlights is amazing.

Harden is better at selling calls to the refs and is a better ball handler. He also is an ironman compared to Mcgrady. The dude never misses games. His skillset is somewhat similar to Paul Pierce in a sense that Harden's game will still flourish when he is slow and old because he already is kinda slow.

So Harden is a richer man's SG version of Paul Pierce without the D?

    Sounds about right.

Don't waste your time arguing with that idiot, 6+ years and he has never shown any ability or willingness to properly debate or reply to any facts and basketball logics.
