Winning gets this town rowdy about their sports team. Let's face it, if the team isn't winning, everyone concentrates on their work/social life. Houston is too big and diverse to be a 'sports town' 24/7. The passion lasted until the beginning of the Steve Francis era. The boki nachbar series against the Lakers was the probably the last passionate season. It rekindled when the Rockets finally advanced to the 2nd round. You can just feel the buzz. Imagine if they had beaten the Lakers to advance even further. Even the Texans have the same issue. Although they get a much greater fan response, this city would take it to another level if they win the super bowl or even make the playoffs. Houston fans are the very passionate about their sports teams. It's just that when there's nothing to cheer for, there are many other things to focus their attention on. Not everyone is a diehard fan like most of us on this board, but they show the same passion when Houston teams are winning
