It's not apples to apples. He's popping a gigantic zit. Childbirth is part of life. It IS life, and it's incredible to witness it. I would vomit if I were there when this guy is squeezing out OUNCES of puss. I was amazed by my wife giving birth, juice, blood, placenta and all.
My roomate last year kept getting staph infections after he sliced open his knee. To say the least, I ended up getting it from him, but didn't realize what it was until something like that happened to me. Not nearly as big, and luckily not on my face. It was just above my armpit. Started as a little bump, and about 2 weeks later it was a little bit smaller than a tennis ball. I tried to hide it because I didn't want my parents to freak out and spend lots of money at a hospital. My mom caught me wincing with pain when I bumpped my arm and got all mommsy and wanted to see what was wrong. She freaked out and made me go to the hospital that night. The doctors sedated the area (my god that hurt, felt like they were putting acid in the thing) and cut it open. He had to squeeze it to get all the stuff out. The entire time I was facing the other direction, I didn't really want to see all the puss and blood, and I know there was a lot of it since the guy was wide eyed when he was finished. Afterwards he put in surgical tape to fill the cavity. I went to my family doctor a few days later to get the tape removed, and I kid you not, it took him about 10 mins to pull it all out. The doctor packed in a good four yards of the stuff. My fam. doctor just laughed.
I got one of those in my armpit when I was 18. I remember thinking that I had a tumor or something because it felt real hard like a knot and it got big pretty fast. It started off as just a little bump and grew to about golf ball size. I didn't have insurance, so I went to the clinic for and it cost me about $50 to have it checked out. The doctor told me that it need to be cut open and drained and that it would cost about $150. I didn't have the money, so I asked what would happen if I let it go. He said that it would eventually grow a head like a zit and drain itself, but it would be very painful and it would take weeks. I didn't think that I had a choice so I went home and soaked it in the bathtub. It was at the point that I couldn't lift my arm up very high without being in excruciating pain. The next night me and a couple of friends were about to go out and we had drank a few beers when I was telling them about what the doctor said. One of my buddies got all excited when I told him that it was just a big zit. He wanted to pop and I told him he was crazy. Eventually, I agreed to try and pop it with a needle. The spot was really tender and it was hard to touch anywhere near it. I pushed the needle into the skin right in the middle of the thing and pushed until it finally broke the skin. I had tears in my eyes, but once the needle got through the skin, I could push it all the way into the armpit without any pain. I thought that when I took the needle out that all of the fluid would just drain out of the hole, but nothing came out but a little bit of milky blood. I squeezed a little bit around the zit and this cottage cheese stuff started coming out. That's when my buddy got excited and asked if he could squeeze the stuff out. It was pretty gross, but I let him do it. It hurt but I knew that I would feel better sooner than if we didn't pop it. The next day I stuck a needle in it again and drained out what I could and the next day it was almost completely gone.
