Agree with Wellstone, I worked for Simon's campaign, so I agree there as well. Moynihan, not so much. As a Prof and a Senator he was good, but he was a guy who would be very much in danger of not reaching timely decisions... paralysis by analysis. The fact that he's dead would exacerbate this tendency.

Fair enough. I'm too young to remember him super clearly. Dude just seemed so reasonable. But that's in line with your criticism.

Cool that you worked for Simon.

    What about Cuomo?

    Scott Ritter, thanks for trying!

Or Tom Tancredo, or Barney Frank, just to make it interesting.

I would include Lou Dobbs to the conversation. I agree with a lot of the choices made by some of the other posters namely, Pat Buchanan, Tom Tancredo, James Webb, Barney Frank, Lou Dobbs, Ron Paul, and Joe Scarborough. I think these are all good choices. I like them all because of their dislike of the Neo-conservative movement, their belief in fiscal responsibility, and
support of the middle class in this country...Of course, that also makes them virtually unelectable by most of the voters because of the stupidity and ignorance of most of the people in this country that voted for Bush TWICE!

For the record, I live in Los Angeles, in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood, and work in a title one school, where 93% of the students are latinos.

I know it's easy to turn a blind eye to the illegal immigration issue when you're not a racist. But people really need to take a look at what's happening.

It may sound ridiculous, but if this country keeps up on its current course, the only place to be comfortable as a racist in 50 years will be Iraq.

So Batman, opposing illegal immigration is racist? That's ridiculous. I oppose illegal immigration strongly, given my family's background of LEGAL immigration. I identify with the illegal immigrants, and frankly respect their work effort. That said, they are willfully breaking the laws of our great nation when illegally move here. It's a security breach and it undermines the rule of law. We have a process for immigration. Follow it, and respect our nation when you arrive.

I love it when someone who "supports the troops" or "remembers 9/11" and then calls vets and 9/11 victims and heroes "leeches" deigns to call other people ridiculous. Your belief system has imploded.

But even better is this "I identify with the illegal immigrants" jazz. Is that like when you claimed common cause with Mexicans "as a fellow Spanish speaker?" You're a fake patriot, you're a fake supporter of the troops, you're a fake conservative and now, apparently, you're pretending to be a Mexican too. Hilarious.

I'm not in favor of illegal immigration, Jorgie. I'm just opposed to racists and xenophobes like you and Aceshigh. You guys give our country a disgustingly bad name.
