I agree with this. I have cheered for the Rangers the last several years because there was no conflict in doing so. Now that both teams are in the same division there is just no chance for that crap. I've been an Astros fan my whole life and that's not changing.
And the fact that it's nothing but a lidless box just makes a bad situation worse. DFW is one of the windiest places I've ever been but you don't get a lick of that breeze unless you sit in the top 5 rows or so (and then it's like sitting in a wind tunnel). Why didn't they open it up? When I go (and it's been a couple of seasons thanks to all the new "fans"), I sit in the AYCE seats in the shade with access to unlimited cokes which is where you make all your money.
Yeah, I used to go up there to catch games and absolutely hated it during the summer. It can get miserable depending on where you sit.
The Ballpark in Arlington is a great piece of architecture and a great stadium in the early spring of late fall. But for those that say it's too damn hot, they are right on the money. I've been there quite a few times and when it's hot it's blistering hot. Minute Made park is by far my favorite Ballpark. I've always had a great time when Ive gone there and I love the train.
