I live in Clear lake. Lately I hear noises from inside my chimney occasionally. Not birds, I don't think. More like some kind of mammals. What kind of animals would live inside the chimney? Do you know whom I can call?

Rats, squirrels, or raccoons. I'm assuming you don't have a chimney topper, so get a flashlight, get up on your rook and take a look down. I found a raccoon in mine when I first moved in. I looked down and he was just there looking up at me. He knew it was time to leave.

Gawd, I hate possums probably more than any animal in the world...big rats with pointy pig snouts. Kill 'em all!!

I don't mind possums as they are not as fast as rats are. You can catch a possum easily, but not a rat.

I have a 2 story house. Never got on top of my roof. Don't know if I can or what to do when I get up there. How do get it out?

No kidding! No WAY am I going to try and 'catch' a possum.

I have one living under my deck in the backyard. It comes out at night and looks in my window with it's beedy little eyes and sharp ass teeth. It drives my cat crazy!

Possums eat cockroaches...which do you hate more?

You can catch a possum with a live trap and sardines as bait. On the west side call the TWRC @ 713/468-8972 to rent them for $3 a day with a $50 refudable deposit.

If you catch it, take it to your local bayou and let it go.

But, their will just be another to take its territory over soon. If you feed your dogs or cats outside, or your neighbors do, your going to have an endless supply.

Possums don't get rabies, their body temperature is too low. Raccoons do though, and it's 50/50 which one you've got. I also get woodrats in my attic.

I poison those. (somma times they really really stink for a few days)

A lot of Houston fireplaces are metallic flues framed in by siding (not traditional bricks) . There is lots of space around the flue and the smoke is contained.
